If I have 65 villagers (which seems to be the max for me) should I be getting "worried about housing" from my villagers??

Yes, that's how you know you've reached the maximum number of villagers. If you train those worried villagers to do something else (like healing or farming), they'll usually stop worrying.

How is this a spoiler? Don't you want someone to build housing? I have only 25 villagers and they are all worried about housing (well the adults are), but no one is building.

Dou suru? (What should I do?)

I don't think this thread is a major spoiler, but, when someone puts that tag in their post title, I don't change it. You'll recognize my tags - they will look like this [SPOILER] and you'll see that I've edited the post!

Now, on to your housing dilemma! Only a builder can initiate housing construction. You don't say how many puzzles (or which puzzles) you've completed, so I can't say whether or not any construction projects remain for your villagers. If you have, indeed, finished all of the construction projects, there is still the possibility of an Island Event that will provide the opportunity to train a builder.

I consider this post a spoiler because I posted the MAX a village might contain. Knowing how many villagers a village can hold could be considered as a spoiler.

Especially for people who quickly max out their village population without the thought that there COULD be a max to it.

@ Barbara -

Do you think it will help if you could edit my header? Since I can't edit anymore.

Perhaps change it to something like:

Worried about housing @ Max Population (SPOILER)

I think I've maxed out my game and will have to start fresh. Bummer.

I only have 25 villagers, plenty of food, but no one has any skill in construction, so I don't think I can get anyone to attempt building. I set everyone's skill to const. and let the game run overnight, but no one is building and everyone is worried about housing. I can't get people to mate because there is not enough housing, so everyone just gets older -- just waiting to die, I guess.

I did have two people with contstruction skills, but I guess it's a use it or lose it proposition with the big C. None of the other skills (that I can see) are lost over time. Perhaps I'm wrong on this, because I see that there are now 7 people buried -- perhaps my const. worker died while I wasn't looking. I see also that I have an elderly, weakened person with minimal (untrained level) const. skill -- so I guess that means she can't train someone else.

Here's the stats:
Hours: 100
born: 27
cured 34
buried 7
oldest 69
max 25
havested 59918
crabs 289
tech 150318
levels completed 9
Island events 10
Puzzles 6 out of 12 (1~5 and 7 completed)

Is this game a lost cause?

Have you already completed hut #3? If not, your game is not a lost cause by a long shot! Builders (like other villagers) tend to want to goof off alot, so you must be persistent. When you get a message that reads "There's not enough housing!" when you try and breed villagers, you can start on hut #3. I like to pick a younger villager and stick with it until they become at least a trainee builder.

Don't give up! There's still lots of stuff for you to build.

It's never a lost cause as long as you have living villagers of both genders! You still have several construction projects left to train builders on, so that's no problem, either. I'd keep going and train up a new generation. Take one of your adult villagers exploring with each new tech purchase and you'll discover new things for them to work on. I've salvaged games far more bleak than yours!

Hmmm. That's my point. They won't build, or I don't know how to get them to build. I've tried everything, including leaving them alone, and zero happens.

But, I won't abaondon the village on your recommendation. I know I'm very impatient with this game and have lost food, and I think tech points by moving people around too quickly.

Sorry for the double post. I started here and then realized that this was perhaps a different issue. I see my attempts to delete this post went awry.

Yes, sorry about that double post. I won't let it happen again. And thanks for your advice. I think that I'm too impatient. I want to WATCH them build, and it just doesn't happen that way.

Cheers!

No problem. After every tech purchase, you should take an adult villager for a "tour" of the village to see if there's anything they could work on. You should be able to accumulate research points fairly quickly with 25 villagers. Once you start on the next construction project, you'll probably have that new hut in no time.

Your villagers can build only 3 huts. The maximum number of villagers allowed in a game is device-dependent based on the available heap memory. I assume that you and your boyfriend have different model Palms?

When you reach 25 villagers, there should be this "construction project" that appears somewhere on your map. I'm not sure if you need to upgrade your building level to see it??? But there should be "something" for you to see so you'll be able to build your next hut.

Yes, by now I've completed all but puzzles 11 and 12. I run low on food, but I just set everyone's skill to Fish/Farm for a while and it builds up quite quickly. I'll PM ya.
