tmac, In Sydney we have the Festival of Sydney running from New Year's Day up to Australia Day. Opera in the Park, Twighlight Concert at Taronga Zoo (not that we have much twighlight here
), Bridge Climbing, and all sorts of other concerts and family entertainment. On Australia Day, we usually have picnics and BBQs and fireworks, some drink too much, and we all generally have a good time just being Australians. A lot of people become citizens on AD too.
