I would love to see the addition of animals. Kids could collect chicken eggs that are left on the ground. More recipes/stews...etc.
I would like to see Healers stay on task. It's very hard to get a Master Healer. Once they are Adept, they spend all their time playing in the pond.
In addition to the names, I think there should be Titles. You could make Priestess/Doctor/Chief...etc.
The one downside of VV is that everything is time based. You either spend your time staring at villagers going about their business or doing something else and checking on them a couple times a day. I think VV should be more interactive. I would like to see some minigames added which keep you amused while the villagers do their thing, and minigames can benefit the tribe. There could be a block busting game with food on the tiles. Match them up and win food for the tribe. (Especially useful in times of drought or if known food sources are depleted.)
I would like there to be more jobs to choose from. There could be basket weaving. Villagers collect reeds (Building skill) and villagers weave the reeds into baskets (new Provider skill) and the baskets are used to collect food (Food skill). A new Provider skill could be for basket weavers, tool makers (such as harpoons/ fishing rods/casting nets, clothing makers (sewing hut should employ a few villagers, don't you think?)
Children should play a bigger role. I think when Masters of a skill or Elders are dropped onto a child, all the children gather in the middle of town to learn the skills that the teachers are skilled in. At the age of 10, I think children should be able to "apprentice" under the adults. Adults that take the time to teach the children would of course gain Parenting skill for their efforts.
Although it may not be feasible in VV3, I would eventually like Villagers to have motives. I would like to see the huts being used for sleeping. Maybe with the Building skill, your villagers will build mats where up to four can sit and socialize while eating. Again, basket weaving could include bowls for eating out of.
