I'm wondering if I could get some help with VV2. I have done all the puzzles, all the tech. Got everything but I beetle. My villagers are just doing what ever. Soooo question is "am I missing something if I can't find that last beetle?

No you didn't "miss" anything!! I think it's usual! I'm waiting for a certain pebble (the last one among all the collectibles) for several month!!

Frustrating isn't it?
I've personally decided to try and spend a whole day staring at the mosaic, with a kid nearby, to get my last pebble!

I saw it once, but by the time I grabbed a kid and got back it was gone! I don't know how long I'll have to wait for it or the last seashell to appear again!

Oh well, just gives me something to do while I wait for VV3!

Yes I am still waiting for it too I believe it comes when I turn off the game but then I cant get it cause I am not playing lol But it will come didnt know u where still waiting for it laurence

Thanks for your input. I am sure the beetle has been there while the villagers have been doing their own thing. Oh well, maybe I will change everyones clothes for now, nothing else to do. LOL

I'm in the same situation. I've solved all the puzzles, have all the tech, have 50 elders, but can't get the last beetle.

Magpie, one of the fun things to do to pass time is play around with "genetics" in the village. Make everybody blonde, or redhead, whatever. Sometimes I put all farmers in the same outfit--same with researchers & builders. Then when I change their specialty, change the outfit.

Same here... Having to keep breeding because of one little pebble, seams a sad excuse to have a child. I wish one could trade!

As far as the collectibles are concerned, there are no glitz. It just takes some of us a little longer...than others.. The green and purple "beetle" you're looking for isn't as famous as was the British "Beatles."

Oops.. I forgot to say that I found my last pebble. Hope you all will soon do the same!

And as far as "Missing" something? You will be rewarded by getting all your collectable. I wont tell you what that reward is but it is nice, I think.

One thing you might try is concentrate on the areas where the beetles are ESPECIALLY when there are a lot of kids playing tag in the area ... don't know why but if they are at the right place at the right time, the collectibles tend to show up around the area they are playing. That purple beetle has been showing up alot lately for me LOL and I don't even need it anymore!! And yes, it was the last one I found to complete the collection.

I have been waiting for weeks for the very last beatle. Since it seems not to appear, makes me wonder about the game. Any thoughts? Thanks

There is nothing wrong with the collectibles in the game. Many, many people have found all of the collectibles, but it has taken months for most of them to do it. The trick is to be watching the place(s) where the collectibles that you need appear (and make sure that you always have children in the village to pick them up).

Finally!!! Found the last beetle (hey, I don't like beetles,but really like the beatles). But "GameMaster1" the only reward I got was being able to have 10 more in my population. Was that the reward you wrote of? Anything reason to keep on playing besides dressing them up, breeding, fixing stews, making them work, etc? Thanks

That's the reward maximum 115 ( unless your 114th villager has twins or triplets) ...

Depends on how you view the game -- some people quit it when all the "goal oriented" accomplishments have been met. Some like to keep seeing how the village is doing on its own, helping out with keeping the fires stoked, changing villagers occupations if they are not happy at what they're doing, helping to teach new healers about strange plants so you always have those who can keep the tribe healthy, helping out where needed and basically let it progress the way it will. You can also build on your stats the longer you play, events still happen. Banging the gong -- well, personally, I don't anymore .... got too many negative effects to justify subjecting my villagers to it).

As another poster on a different thread found out, the game is only really over if you don't have any breeding females and the rest of your tribe dies and you get a screen saying "game over". Otherwise, it's over when YOU say it's over. BUT if you have done a really good job of balancing your tribe, it can go on and on and on and as in real life, other things happen besides strictly goals ... time to stop and smell the roses and enjoy just being. So it is really up to you where you want to take it

Sometimes, like in real life it is all on how you look at it; sometimes it is the journey, not just the destination that life includes (again I say LDW, how very ZEN of you!!)

I haven't found my last beetle, but have started a new game with my own challenges as I'm not yet ready to let go of my Villagers.

I would like to be able to remember more of the villagers when I click on their gravestones or totem poles and figure this should be a step in the right direction.

Thank you sooo much for your help. I do enjoy just helping the villagers get through the day. Will probably keep playing awhile. Not worrying about food and checking up on them takes alot off of you doesn't it? It seems you pay more attention to the people and not the trials.

Enjoy Magpie -- and YES it does take a load off LOL!! They are pretty sufficient on their own after a while --- still need help with getting the fire lit (you'd think that would have been the FIRST thing THEY would learn to do on their own LOLOL, and of course teaching children, and teaching new doctors the strange plants but other than that? If the children have a little farming, building or research already on their skills screen, just check it off and they will start doing it on their own (Dr's are one of the exceptions). I just tweak things a bit.

You'll start noticing their own individual ways, and details that were missed because you were focused on other things. You'll find different ways to interact with them. It truly is a journey, so enjoy your journey. And, also, you play and keep it going long enough and who knows? You might find your tribe showing up on the leader boards I wasn't expecting it, but guess who showed up this week in the top 100 for events, total hours, and elders? The Rainbow Tribe!!
I am also happy to tell you that for the second time, my 114th villager gave birth to triplets, which means I have 117 in the tribe, and is my fifth set of triplets

it took me a little over 5 months to get my last collectible..and i play this game every day for several hours looking for them i think i got cheated though...my population limit is 115 and it was 105 before i got the last one and i got +5 for that (110) then i got a seperat thing like 5 seconds later telling me i got +10 (120??) but I can only go to 115 ..beats me

Those messages are misleading. You get +5 for each completed collection and another 5 as a bonus for completing them all.

Oh well hopefully with vv3 all the kinks can be worked out!! How much population can a village get to?

Like I posted above, with the bonus after completing all the collections, the total max is 115 .... BUT ... special circumstances like the 114th villager having twins or triplets can bring it to 116 or 117. That has happened to me a few times already.

Anyone know if it can go any higher than 117?

I do believe that if you get really lucky and get the events that bring additional villagers to the island you can go above that.
