My game froze up on me again and when I did a soft boot,all my villagers had died. I started over and it froze again.Again they died. I was starting to get the hang of the game (with the help of y'all). What can I do to get my game back? I did a hotsync the night before last. I have no idea what can be done.

Don't do another hotsync. Ladycfii can tell you how to retrieve your savegame file and start from there. If you send her a private message I'm sure she'll set you up!

It's really very easy to load a backup game of Village Sim! Go into the 'backup' folder for Palm desktop (usually \program files\palm (or palmone)\user_name\backup) and double-click on the file VillageSavegame.pdb. That will put it in QuickInstall, ready to be HotSynced back onto your Palm. Since the game wasn't paused when you last hotsynced, you'll have to change your Palm's system clock to match the date/time of the savegame file before you launch Village Sim to keep your game from experiencing days of neglect (but you can bring up the game, pause it, exit, and set the Palm's clock back to the correct time).

too late I guess. I started a new game. then it froze again. I'll be a pro before I get through the game, so I can't complain...lol

It seems that Tungsten E Palms are among the devices that have a little more trouble with stability than most Palms. Those devices are getting extra attention for the v1.1 update.

The best thing to do now is to exit the game a little more frequently, so that your progress is saved. That way, if you do have a freeze or crash, you won't suffer a major setback after the reset.

I have a Tungsten E. I installed the game without any music files. The game was playing well, no freezing up. My villagers were doing exceptionally well, I had just got to Harvesting level 3. I then decided to install one of the music files. That was the beginning of the end. The game kept freezing up, whether I had the music turned on or off. I finally uninstalled the game and reinstalled it without the music files and started a new game. Everything is going along smoothly now, no more crashes!

I haven't seen anything like that before, but I don't install the music files after I've already been playing the game. I might have to try to test that.
