When you sleep, press your spacebar to stop time, or go to options and set time to 'Stop Time' and your plants will not die

To get back the pots you could download some potmods to get new pots with other look, or somewhere around the forum there are the original potfile put up by someone... Dont remember post right now, but I'm sure I could find it if needed
