Is there a way to get rid of that camera icon? I feel no need for screenshots and it keeps getting in the way when I try to catch a _bug_. By the time I get back to normal screen, the _bug_ is gone. I quit playing the game because I ran into this so often and it became simply infuriating.

And why did the post add _ s around the word "_bug_" that I typed?

I never would have thought of that! Let's see, will it still add lines if I misspell it? Say, "bbug"? I'll find out in a sec. If that doesn't work, I can simply change to using "insect."

But why would the game include the term at issue if the moderators need to check for these glitches? It must make it tougher for them to sort out references to insects from the possible programming errors that they seek in this manner.

Whatever, my compliments to the system for attempting to address the most serious issues first.

We called them insects during testing. The reason for the underscores is actually due to a limitation in the current forum software that requires all search terms to be at least 4 letters, making it impossible to search for the word '_bug_' in the forums. At least this way we can find it, even though we have to explain it a lot when people ask about it.

As for catching the insects in the game (and dealing with the camera icon, which can't be disabled), I find that it's easiest to let the insect fly farther down into the greenhouse before attempting a catch.

That only helps when they first show up. I miss a lot -- I'm not good with the mouse (Ilike the num pad scroll control in VV2 for same reason). So I'm trying to net that bbug and miss and miss and it flies up to that upper corner and next thing I know I'm faced with taking photos of plants. If it can't be disabled then I'm done with THAT game.

I just laugh when that happens to me cattales Perhaps when you get to my age you learn to laugh at life's little inconveniences. LadyCFII is right though, I soon learned to wait until it got lower down before taking a swipe at the insect.
If the insect is flying upwards I just let it go when it get near that icon.

I'll second that Laurence, those dragonflies a tricky little insects. Hard to catch and love that screenshot icon

Without the bbug-catching, the game is just waiting for flowers to grow up. Bor-oring. I tried the demo and found the bbug-netting enough to make it interesting while I waited to see the next blooms. So I bought the full game. Then this camera issue showed up and took all the fun out of the flying insects. Between the camera and all the stuff on the left where they can also escape my reach, I seldom can catch the fliers. Took all the fun out of it. If somebody ever finds a work-around for this, I'd be really happy. Um, but it would have to be a Mac-compatible version. Thus far, of the mods that I've tried, few work on my unit.

So I went to "Polls > what is your age group" and took a look. Do you really think that if I haven't learned patience in my first fifty years that another twenty will make any difference?

Though I shall admit an envious admiration for those with a good dose of patience.

If you have the fragile nerves, forget insects and just look at the plants growing. It seems that it is excellent against the stress!!
Oh! and take a big breath before prunning them!!

My bugs tend to come when I am busy filling the pots and mostly as I'm addiding the water and I have keep stopping to try and catch them, most of the time.

It does get easier when you can afford the 3rd net. I can catch all but the fast scurriers with that net.

My bugs prefer to come when I'm adding foods to my plants!
So I let the food bottle; grab the net... it's the shears!!... let the shears and grab the net; look for the dragonfly... the snapshot screen!!! (hello cattales!)... back to the main screen; the dragonfly is gone!! (doesn't matter, it will eat the mosquitoes ) let the net; take the food bottle and... I don't remember witch plant has received food and witch didn't!!!
