I have three builders 'clearing' the briar patch, but they stay there for about 30 seconds and go back and bury their tool again.

Then they walk around in a circle or wander a bit and then go back and dig it up and do it again. It's like they all have ADD or something and can't stay on task.

Anyone else have this happen?

Yes, they every time do that. I don't think it's bcz they are lazy but they just look at the work they have to do more and they change their tools when they are used, I think!

You're welcome! \:\) When they do that they make me thinking of painters who go far their painting for having a larger look!

All work and no relaxation also stresses villagers out ... like real people, taking a break once in a while can keep you healthy and happy. This is not a "rush" kind of game. It is pretty "Zen" lol, and it goes on and on and on, even after all the "tasks" and goals and levels have all been met. It's not the destination, it's the journey :)!!

I have found building to be the most time-consuming of all the tasks. It can take someone half a lifetime to become a master builder, but only a couple of years to become a master scientist, for example.

This is true. The thing to remember is that it takes a lot less time to research than to build. I mean they have to go all the way over to get the wood or stone. Plus, researchers tend to actually do what they're told. If only doctors would, too.

If you notice carefully the role and the activities of a doctor it includes activities to promote wellness in many other areas as well, for themselves. Doing laundry, enjoying the pool, walking on the beach, admiring the gong casing and the mosaic, dancing on the beach, exercising ... all play a part in wellness, as such activities does for us in real life. It is not just that they are waiting every moment for someone to get sick ... they are enjoying the journey as well. If you've had them study all of the magic plants, and they are well acquainted with them, you've done your part in helping them grasp the basics of the office, and after that ... well it is up to them :).

I do help them out once in a while to train the newbies, or to help them make a restorative stew for the elderly and the nursing mothers, or anyone else that could use a boost in life meter department. Most of the time, everyone is full up. Occasionally I'll find someone that isn't happy with what they've been set to do (the life meter can show that), and I change them over to a new category and help them on their way, and if they have a liking for a certain color, I take them to the sewing hut and find them clothing that matches their preferences. Little things sometimes makes a difference!

I'm pretty excited about that, since I've had some women doctors who have become parents, and I am seeing more children born with some innate abilities bent on the healing path :). It used to be mostly, if not all, ability towards research, but now I am seeing a good balance of children wanting farming, and healing as well.
