Well I have a question. I made a post a few days ago asking if any other members played or were interested in any other games besides PT, such as CSS or COD4 just out of curiosity. I posted it in the general discussion. it seems that it was deleted. I have searched it out and even browsed through TONS of pages to find it. If it was deleted I want to know why. It was not inappropriate in any way. What's the deal?

I agree with Robert. Read this post. So I think the forum is having issues with server space and forum performance.

If you would like to discuss non-LDW games with the people here, there is a way to do it. There is a new player-made forum for LDW-enthusiasts. A lot of people here are there as well. Why not write your note there?

I would give you the link but I don't know it by heart. Maybe someone else knows it?

The post was actually placed in the Plant Tycoon forum, but Borg and Robert are correct that this forum is really intended primarily for discussion about LDW games. You will find limited topics in General Discussion about such topics as holidays, pets, and humor, but ongoing discussions about non-LDW games are not appropriate here and will be removed.

Glad to help \:\)

We all become somewhat attached to the notes we write, and it can sometimes feel like a personal attack when notes we have lovingly crafted get moved or deleted. At least here, it is never the case that it is a personal attack.

Forum administrators walk a fine line. They try to keep notes of a similar theme in the same thread or sometimes even in the same sub-forum. They try to police the forum for inappropriate (such as sexually explicit) content. They try to remove spoilers from posts that don't really benefit from them, and they edit other post's titles with "[spoiler]" to warn people that a thread contains information they might not want to know. They try to keep everyone happy - the users, who want their work turned into guides as soon as they are posted \:\) ; and the boss, who is concerned with value - how much benefit is a sub-forum to raising the awareness of a product, compared with how much it costs to maintain it.

I too have had my posts moved, deleted, edited and even locked many times, as far back as I can remember, and not just here. I think we all have. I am sure this was not personal. Don't lose any sleep over it. ;\)

Nicely stated, Borg. It's very difficult to moderate a forum, for all of the reasons you stated and many more. There are very few forums in the world that allow posting anything and everything that people want to talk about. Most forums have a specific, stated purpose, and people who visit various forums expect to find discussion related to that forum's purpose. We all need to remember that.

We have to not only try to keep the forums fun and friendly, we have to try to make sure that people who come here to enjoy the discussion about LDW games don't have to sift through a lot of irrelevant stuff in order to find what they are looking for. We do allow a bit more freedom in the General Discussion forum as long as it doesn't get out of hand. \:\)

For those who do not know me I probably should have also mentioned that the opinions expressed above and below are mine alone and not necessarily those of LDW since I do not work or speak for LDW - that is LadyCFII's job, which she does with elegance. \:\)

Being successful at marketing a product not only means that the product itself has to be live up to certain standards. The image of the company that created it also needs to be polished and professional.

Most consumer's first impressions of a company are often the company's own message board. I think we all want to see LDW continue to prosper, if for no other reason than so we will one day see the release of VV3.

To help keep this forum to the same high standards that LDW puts into the games they make for us, I vote that we all help them out by making a conscious effort to use Kittenangel2001's message board for the wonderful-but-not-LDW-related forum games and stories, and use the official LDW forum (the one we are in now) for all things LDW. Yes?
