I have a parenting pair, both absolute blondes, that produce a little girl with long, straight, black hair every time. The DNA and genetic structure of Isolans never ceases to amaze me!

What I would love to know is even "roughly" how the genetics work.

Particularly whether grand-parentage plays a role.

For example, is a red spiky haired male qualitatively the same whether he came from a red haired father or a black haired father? And how many generations back, if any at all, would be tracked?

I'd also love to know what proportion of matings lead to a "random" offspring not normally expected with that pairing.

My room mate is convinced it's totally random, but it obviously isn't. Furthermore, true randomness is not possible because it must be coded. Even a random number generator is only random in theory.

I have had every female character in one of my 3 villages so far, but there are 4 different male types I've never had. Certain villagers I started with never appeared in the population again. It's curious.
