what is the thing on the Boy on the intro?

the spear is the same thing that the cutting tool is. the boy has a spear in his hand it is a clue to that puzzle.

I asked the same question when VV2 first came out. Someone said that the original villagers knew how to make spears, and that one was left over. However, the children left behind and those villagers who fell down the waterfall didn't know how to make any new ones until they rediscover how in the game.

Me, I reckon that the artist got it wrong.
