I'm not sure I could choose

The GC totally drives me nuts in VV:ANH, but I love some of the challenges, plus the art has a totally different feel to it. I really love the cactus and my pink haird girls (yes yes, we all know I'm weird). I also like that they draw the water from a well and NOT where they wash thier feet, and their babies. I love being able to call the children to school, and I think it is hilarious to watch the little buggers walk on water (although I do love being able to isolate them in VV:TLC). I like the plants/herbs better in this one too.

In VV:TLC first of all, I love that the acronym is TLC, because that is what the villagers need, especially those poor abandoned children in the beginning. I also love the mystery: where is Tofo, and where did all of the adults wander off too???? The puzzles are totally different, and the first time through it was a real challenge. I'm not as crazy about the art, partially because I miss my pink haird girls and partially because for some reason I have it stuck in my head that the beach looks like perpetual twilight. I do absolutely LOVE that the children are genetically smilar to their parents, and that it lists who the parents are. I also love that the children are able to collect more than mushrooms, and that doing so can have a real impact on the growth of the willage. I love being able to have more events because of the Gong, although I wish that the events were more like the normal ones. Also, I do like some of the new villagers hairstyles, although I am not crazy about others.

To me it is hard to choose which is better. It would be like loving one child more than another, and the villages I have are like children to me, in a way. I really do care about their health and well being. I check up on them whenever I can. When I just went out of town for a week I fretted over them a bit, even though I knew they could take care of themselves. I get upset when my little villagers pass on in both games, and my only really complaint is that after 50, we don't get tombstones or any kind of memorial.

I like VV2 best. The game is longer, and there's much more to do.

But I do have problems with my people not wanting to change careers after they've mastered one. Sometimes it takes me hours of putting a person over to the new career before they'll become a trainee.

Then too, right now I have only two children, the third one will be up and running around in 3 minutes. When I find a collectable, it's hard to find a child in time to get the collectable, I've lost a lot of them because I can't find the child fast enough.

It took two of my days, for my farmer trainee to become a master farmer. She had all the fish, all the coconuts and was working on planting and harvesting and fighting the birds when she finally became a master farmer.

Having played both, I like the polished look of VV2 and it has more to do. VV2 I'd say, and I think the only thing VV1 has to offer that's not in VV2 is the GC< and we don't really want him around \:8 but I do like VV1 a lot

I just started VV 2 a week ago, and I think I am going to like V 2 the most. I like the caring for the babies more, and I like the fact that the babies resemble the parents and that the parents show up in the detail-list. My idea is that there is more of a social life in VV2. And lots of other things:
- people get grey hair as they grow older
- villagers fish with a spear
- the collections
- the way children play and their role in the game
- the drawings
- the sewing hut
- the mysteries about the adults and Togo
- the drawings
- the eating sound \:\)

And I especially liked the fact that the beginning of the game is less "raw" than in VV1.

Possible spoilers>Maybe, you haven't noticed these things, or maybe you just haven't seen them yet (since you just started). My villager's in Virtual Villagers 2 do most of these already. Such as: their hair grays with age, they fish with a spear, the children do a lot of playing such as tag, and they love story time. Also they chat, argue, complain those are social things.
