Very cool as usual Borg. I've never had my seahorse die on me, but now if it does I won't have to miss it!

Is there any way you can save the RA version on another drive separate from the other game? I'm watching this topic ... I have the RA version as well. I love me little seahorsie, and he is aging gracefully and healthily, but it is nice to know there could be a replacement. Has anyone else noticed any color changes with age progression? Mine started out yellow, and is now orange ... hmmmmmm ....

If someone had the proper knowhow they could mod it, it's just not as easy as the other games, but it is doable.

I hadn't realised before this thread came back from the dead that a seahorse could die. Certainly I've never seen seen any of mine with an infection, and that's the only way the fishes in Isola die - they don't die of old age. The sea horse also seems to be on a different timescale to the others; while I have several fish aged 9999, the seahorse is only in the low hundreds (I don't have FT on this machine so I can't check their exact ages).

The seahorse is not supposed to be able to die (and I've never had one die), but people have reported seahorse deaths. In addition, some people have trashed their seahorse (accidentally or deliberately).

The seahorse will not age at all, unless it's in the tank when growth hormone is used. Perhaps that scenario is related to seahorse deaths?

Odd. When I get home I'll check the ages of the seahorses in my three extant games. I haven't used the growth hormone at all often (apart from early on when I didn't have the seahorse anyway). One of the magic fish, though, has the attribute that "With this fish in your tank, young fish tend to grow more rapidly." Could that also affect the seahorse? I do have that particular MF in all three games.

Yes, that particular fish does have the same effect, now that you mention it. In fact, if I remember correctly, it can possibly cause fish to age even when the game is paused. \:o

That'll be the reason, then. My seahorses are 69, 208, and 21. I misremembered; I don't have that MF in the third tank, which no doubt explains why he's so much younger. The 69 year old is actually in the oldest game, and I accidentally sold my breeding pair of that MF, and have only recently bred them back again. The seahorse aged 208 has had the magic fish with it pretty well from when I bought it; it was the first MF I bred in that game, even before the relatively common MF of Fertility.
