I just tried to do a little pruning on a Tahitian and a Venus plant with my Isola pruning shears.

On the Tahitian, one tiny snip on a small petal near the top made a huge clump of the plant fall off.

On the Venus Rare Oak, I made one little snip on a tiny flower petal at the top, and the whole plant faded away and disappeared, leaving just the seed pod showing.

Is this perhaps some strange reaction to my VST mess up where I lost a different numbered game?

Or maybe the rarest plants don't need to be pruned? They did look like it would help.

Has anyone else had this happen? I'm nervous to prune anything else now.

Thanks,
pictishgirl

Always make sure that when you're pruning, the only part that's higlihgted is the part that u want to prune.

There was only one small petal highlighted! (I've been playing since this was released, so I knew that. What happened today is not normal.)

You do have the golden shears, right? 'Cause sometimes the others will cause more damage.

Yes. The problem has not recurred, and some other odd things happened on my computer that day as well. Since my security software updated several times that day and then I rebooted, no more weirdness (except in my village, but that is just normal, eh?).

I guess it could have been an annoyance virus or worm that the security update fixed.

"All better" for now.

Thanks for posting!

I had this happen today in fact, I was pruning a perfectly healthy tahitian pipe cactus but was on the phone at the same time. What I think happened was that my hand slipped and more of the plant got highlighted just before I clicked, and just the seed pod was left. I actually sold the seed pod in the pot, eventually, for 20 dollars, it was still labelled as a tahitian pipe cactus!

Do you have Level 1 Shears? If so, that's normal until you upgrade to get the Isola Shears.

all the upgrades to "gold" are well worth it, so much easier to garden with them! i find pruning hidden dead leaves to be very difficult but with patience i have managed to find them and sell all my plants so far, the extra clump for me i always thought was me being clumsy and hacking more than i really wanted to
