Should my prority be to collect seeds from "clean and pure" plants, or seeds from a various number of cross-pollinated plants...?

You should always self-pollinate your starting plants and save at least one of each seed. That way, if you start cross-pollinating plants and discover that they won't survive in the starting soil, you will still have seeds that you can continue to plant and self-pollinate to earn money. This post and this post in the Guides Section have some good tips that you can safely read without spoiling the game.

There are a few nice utilities in the guide section that offer varying amounts of "help."

If you want to figure out how breeding works yourself, there is a thread entitled "non-spoiler version of Virtual Seed Tray" that won't give away any state secrets, but will allow you to save extra seeds if you run out of room.

If you would like a program to tell you what you have, what you can make, and how to breed them, there is another thread entitled "improved spoiler version of Virtula Seed Tray" that not only stores your extra seeds but creates an interactive breeding chart filled with your data taken from your game (such as plants you have bred in the past, seeds you have, etc and all the other info above).

If you would like a program to water your plants for you and put soil in the pots when they get empty, there is a thread called "the constant gardener"

Oh; I've read that posts in the Guide Section many times. But after some hours - then I'm lost. And don't know how many times I've started over again (I came over PT last monday)
