This is a guide about results when breeding plants depending on their tiers. This guide assumes you are familiar with terms such as: Cross-Pollinate, Tier, and Breed. For definitions of the four tiers and examples of seeds, see
sfrose's wonderful seed catalogOnce you've read that, you should understand this guide.
This is sorta a guideline of what tiers you should cross-pollinate to get others.
You start out with only Tier 1s. A Tier 1 cross-pollinated with another tier 1 will give you a tier 1 or a tier 2. You won't get very far with just tier 1s, so try and get some tier 2s. Before you have level 2 soil, experiment with breeding tier 2s together. A tier 2 and another tier 2 will give you s tier 2 or a tier 1. Don't breed a tier 1 and a tier 2 until you have level 2 soil. A tier 1 + a tier 2 will ALWAYS equal a tier 3. Once you have tier 3s, there are lots of more possibilities, but beware. Sometimes, you may cross-pollinate two tiers and wind up with something that's a lower tier than both of them, for example: A tier 4 plus a Tier 3 can equal a tier 1 in some occasions. Here is a basic outline:
Tier 1 + Tier 1 = Tier 1 or 2
Tier 1 + Tier 2 = Tier 3 ONLY
Tier 1 + Tier 3 = Tier 1, 2, or 3
Tier 1 + Tier 4 = Tier 1, 2, 3, or 4
Tier 2 + Tier 2 = Tier 1 or 2
Tier 2 + Tier 3 = Tier 1, 2 or 3
Tier 2 + Tier 4 = Tier 1, 2, 3, or 4
Tier 3 + Tier 3 = Tier 1, 2, or 3
Tier 3 + Tier 4 = Tier 1, 2, 3, or 4
Tier 4 + Tier 4 = Tier 4 ONLY
