your red pots are crooked. i would complain \:\)

with 3 spotted reptans on the screen, virtual Bug Collector has logged 48 total bugs/22 different species of bug in the last few hours, and none of them were the blue or tiger variety we seek.

I'll come back in a couple hours and swap the spotted reptans for something else and see what happens \:\)

I've got the bug collector monitoring the bugs, the gardener watering the plants, and the seed tray/charts organizing the seeds and providing all the breeding information. if this keeps up the game will be able to play itself without me \:\)

Cheers,
Borg

PS Jalapa Ball Cactus makes common shiny blue beetles appear. \:\) not sure if it is the jalapa or the ball cactus though.

Borg, I believe Cactus species is responsible for the shiny blue beetle. I've been researching that species and have caught a ton of them (at least more than I've ever seen before).

Addendum: Just read your post. Its Ball Cactus. I have not planted Jalapa Balls in this session.

lp "seven" of p wants to now where this infamous _bug_ collector is?

I believe Ip7p is right. I have seen 5 shiny blue beetles while just having 13 ball cacti out.

2 daisy, 2 Rosa, 2 Fragrant, 2 Ven, 1 spotted, 1 bluestar, 1 jalapa, 1 fourpetal and 1 citrus. (with no buds or flowers)

Now 1 after the ball cacti with buds & now 1 after the flowers have come in.

Ball cactus it is then. I had only 1 plant out, a fourpetal ball cactus, and found lots of common shiny blue beetles. thank you all for the help!

i am trying to figure out the tiger dragonfly at the moment and am not having much success yet \:\)

Borg, that bugger is like Mikey: He'll come out to anything. But I see the most of them with Fragrant and Fourpetal anything.

P.S. He also likes the Isola Soil (no plant, just soil). Silly bugger. LOL

i tried several different flowers and foliages one at a time and the only one that seemed to work for me for the COMMON TIGER DRAGONFLY was the JALAPA flower.

So here is what I think. There are 48 bugs. These can be divided into 3 categories:

(a) 32 need no special flowers or foliage
(b) 8 need a special flower
(c) 8 need a special foliage
--------
32 + 8 + 8 = 48 total bugs.

here are the 8 that need a special flower:
uncommon Amber Butterfly - Aureus
rare Jet Moth - Nox
rare Golden Butterfly - Fabled
common Tiger Dragonfly - Jalapa
rare Black Dragonfly - Venomous
rare Golden Dragonfly - Blazing
uncommon Mystic Scarab - Mystic
rare Tahitian Spider - Tahitian

here are the 8 that need a special foliage:
common Fern Butterfly - Fern
common Shiny Blue Beetle - Ball Cactus
rare Shiny Flower Beetle - Orchid
rare Golden Beetle - Ananas
uncommon Glassy Dragonfly - Multiflora
common Cactus Spider - Pipe Cactus
uncommon Bamboo Spider - Bamboo
rare Golden Spider - Ridgeball

Cheers,
Borg
