I put a villager on a hut and it started to fix the hut.Is this normal? The hut is 100% finished(it doesnt actually show how much percent because its complete)

If it is normal then what does it do?

It is a way to give a villager more skill in building.

Often when a builder has no obvious work he will start to fix a hut. As you've discovered, dropping a villager on a completed hut will also set them fixing it. If he is successful he will gain some building skill, as mentioned by Barbara.

However, you've got to make sure the villager is "fixing" the hut. If he's just "examining" it he won't gain any skill. In those cases I'll drag him away and re-drop him until the status bar shows he is "fixing".

I've had villagers go from no skill to master builders by just fixing huts. it just takes a long tme.

What is it with "This hut is still in good repair"?

Probably the single most annoying phrase of the game...aside from hearing kissy sounds when you're maxed out on 90 villager's.

If you drop a villager on a hut, and their action is "Examining hut" you will get that message every time. If I see that they are examining a hut, I pick them up and drop them again until it says "Fixing hut."

I SEE! Thanks so much!

I was thinking about VV3 and chances for villager's to continue to build skill...what about an Island event that can cause...well, utter devastation to half of your villagers and take a toll on food stores and shelter? As in, we can visibly see the huts have been ravaged and see how the food bin has been broken. That way, a team of Builders can rebuild the huts and rebuild the food bin. Or even clean up...a clean up team can remove the wasted food, turn into compost for the fields. And when the clean up is done, they can take care of LAUNDRY!!! So many things!!!

At this point in my current game, I have so much food (1,000,000+) and the huts are built, they're set for huge amounts of time that I'm away from the game. It's sort of taken the fun out of it, as if they're just working for no reason. I've left the game for 4 days on 2x speed and I was shocked to see no real change. Yes, some of my elders had passed but, I had a few women set to Parenting and well, they filled up the village to capacity again.

I know everyone is really curious about the next versions but this is probably my biggest request as far as the huts and Builder skills.

OMGoodness! I have flash floods, that take away all the food, fog that misplaces scientific instruments, and heat, which makes the villagers apathetic! At least I can count on their huts not falling apart, hopefully, since builders are notorious for skipping out on work after they get to adept, and haning around enjoying the pond! \:\)
