There is a file called VillageSavegame.pdb on your device. Everytime you hot sync, it is being stored on your pc, probably in the map palm/your_hotsync_name/backup. When you mess up a game and want to try another strategy, all you have to do is to synch the savegame file from your backup map

You have to be careful with that, though. If your game wasn't paused when you last did a HotSync, you will get a very unpleasant surprise when you restore it back to your Palm. You can avoid that by either pausing your game before you back it up (via HotSync or another method), or setting your Palm clock to the date/time of the savegame file, launch the game, pause it, and put your clock back to the correct time.

If you don't change the time, sometimes you get really cool and interesting results, though. Once I had a villager die at age 142 (or so it said in the stats), and a ton of research points.
