My personal favorites are the children chasing butterflies and dancing.

I just saw the GC "making a party"... how funny! All of the villagers ran to the center and started dancing!

I have seen my villagers do lots of interesting things lately such as exercising, doing a rain dance and I even caught a nursing mom holding hands with her "mate."

My favorite "action" that happened in the game so far is my Golden Child threw a party. Everyone huddled around her and she did a few flashy little magic tricks, people danced, and that was it. ^__^

I'm really frustrated cuz my village always has only male children and never makes it to harvest 3, and so dies out.

This is on easy settings too....

Any advice is welcome

Oh that sounds cool! Hey so is the Golden Child really "golden"?? As in, is the child all dressed in gold?? Or is that the word that's used to describe it?

How many times have you had a problem with nothing but boys being born? Sometimes there is an imbalance in the genders, but it usually straightens out after a bit. You don't really need to purchase harvesting level 3 in order to feed a growing population. There are many good ideas on how to get going in Village Sim - check out the topic called "Newbie Questions" and "Village Sim Help" for some strategies.

She/he looks like a little monk. She/he wears all yellow and a cape. You really can't miss her/him. She's quite bigger than the regular children and she does something special that the other kids dont do.

I got tired of the party thing after a while. She kept on throwing one every 10 minutes or so and messed with my food production.. *lol*

I have 10 of the puzzles solved and am waiting for GC, and I've got all my farmers fishing like crazy to build up the food supply in advance! Thanks for the "Heads-Up"

I have a crazy lady in my village. Before the crops sprout up, she stands next to the field and sways side to side. She is rain dancing. Since she is the only one who does it, I must conclude she is crazy.

I've had several do a rain dance but it's not raining! They're still carrying water to the crops. Mind you, I don't know what else they would do with their time right now. I've solved puzzles 1 to 9 and there are only 2 babies (population's back up to 65). When do you know if one's the GG?

I especially like the "exercising". They even do it right, starting off slow and then running! It's so cute!

Did you also notice the "weight lifting"? Over in the area on the right, where they normally get some of their building materials. I couldn't figure out what they were going over there for when I first seen it, because everything was built, but once I watched them closely, they were lifting weights (heavy logs, or boat debris, or something). It's so cute!

I just saw some of them weight lifting after I last posted. If you listen closely, you can hear them picking up the big chunk of rock. I haven't had any whiners yet.

I'm amazed at the remarkably intricate games that can be made for such a small device!

I tried an experiment - I took one of the nursing mothers and dunked her in the lagoon! She had a good time relaxing and floating around for a couple of minutes - with the baby under water! No harm done, though, mommy and child came up out of the water and went about their business.

It might be a good idea for a future enhancement, to not allow nursing mothers into the water, similar to the way swimming is prohibited under certain curcumstances now.

Background: Masau is a 1st generation full time male master farmer in my village. I mated two 1st generation master female farmers with him and produced several offsprings from them. I mated my 1st generation female builder sometimes with my male master builder, and sometimes with Masau. Note that I only let my female villagers gain breeding skills, Masau has zero in breeding skills.

Things became interesting when I set the preferences of my female villagers to breeding.

First, the 1st generation ladies would choose Masau. It is interesting to see how they change their status to "Embracing" and then make a beeline for Masau, ignoring other males along the way. Even my female builder ignored her previous male builder mate and picked only Masau.

Things do get rowdy at times. For example, one lady kissed Masau, and as they made their way to the hut, another lady intercepted and kissed him, so that the three of them went to the hut together! Another time, he emerged from the hut with a lady, who promptly kissed him again at the doorway. But before he went in, a second lady kissed him and in the threesome go. Such things happened more than once.

I mated my 2nd generation lady with another 2nd generation guy. (I don't remember whether I mated her with Masau before.) But when I set her to breeding mode, sure enough she made the beeline for ... Masau. To top it, there was one occasion while Masau was still in the sea, she went into straight into the sea, made that kissing sound, and then the two of them headed for the shore to the hut!!

This morning I still had five piles of bones from my first six villagers (the last one has held on to the ripe old age of 64) which were being largely ignored by the three current villagers. One villager periodically kept trying to heal the dead piles, but today decided to go from pile to pile and was telling each of them a joke! (Must not have been very funny, as no one was laughing...) Later, the same villager was walking around alone and teaching - nobody! Do I have a mental case here? She seems like someone's crazy old Aunt.

That's kinda sad when you think about it. I'm not sure that the villagers are actually supposed to behave that way, but who knows - maybe she "went over the edge" after losing her castaway island mates like that!

Well, it's not a problem today because she's dead, too. I now have only two adults (M&F, Master Scientists, each) who have a 9-yr. old (born with Research credits!). A big storm washed away all the food (3,517), so they are hard-pressed to feed themselves, not wanting to leave the Research table. Someone had better wash ashore quick, or my little family is doomed. (Someone else to collect food while the Brainiacs do what they do best. ) No Food = No Babies.

Those Island Events can sure throw a monkey wrench into your villagers' lives, can't they? I've come back from the brink with a similar situation, so it's not hopeless!
