Hi everyone. We are seeing that a few people are having trouble registering for the forums here. They are not receiving their email verifications, so they can never log in. This is happening because a few ISP (such as Comcast) are bouncing emails from LDW. We do not know why. Additionally I think Yahoo's mail services may be marking the confirmation emails as spam, so if you have a Yahoo email address you might have to look there.

Barbara's update - new procedures for resolving forum registration problems:

If you did not receive a verification email after you registered for the forums, please see this answer in our Support FAQ and follow the instructions there to get help with your forum registration.

If you received a verification email and followed the instructions to verify your email address, but you still can't log in to the forunms, please see this answer in our Support FAQ.

I'm a Comcast subscriber who didn't receive my confirmation email. I was, however, able to log in using the username and password I created. :-)

I applied on Friday and was having trouble too, but I thought it was because Friday was LDW so you'd all gone home to play pc games for the weekend! But I got a nice email from Barbara yesterday and my user name and password today. Thanks.

I tried twice, decided it was a problem (duh, didn't read this thread,) but after a while, both confirmations came. I picked one and am using it. Should I write you guys to delete the other? I just never confirm/clicked it, but it seems you're allowing more than 24 hrs, huh?

Anyway -- Thanks for allowing me in! -- E

Hello.
I requested membership on Saturday. I received an "activate your account" email, which I promptly did, but that was it. Never heard anything else

I tried to log in on Monday, and couldn't get in. I reread the email I had received, and saw I was waiting for a confirmation email. Never came. Yesterday, Wednesday, I tried to log in anyway, and I got in

My ISP is Suddenlink which used to be Cox.

And I am glad to be here

It's odd that you couldn't log in on Monday. Although we now manually approve all registrations, it's rarely more than a few hours between the time you register and when the registration is approved. Unfortunately, you're not notified when the approval happens, which is why we state on the registration page that if you're having problems logging in, you should wait 8 hours and try again. But, you're here now. Welcome!

LDW staff, thank you so much for this post. For a long time I tried to register here but couldn't...and yes I do use Comcast. About a month ago I finally got in. I'm glad that you put this post up to help other people who can't get registered.

My problem was whenever I tried to log in I would get "invalad password." Finally, I had to change my user name and password.

There are two things that you should do when you encounter difficulty logging in to the forums. The first is to use the link at the bottom of the login page to access the "Forgotten login information" function. That function will send your forum name and password to your email address.

If that doesn't resolve the situation, or you're having problems getting registered (remember that all registrations are manually approved, and that can take several hours - especially during non-business hours), you can submit a support form and we'll take care of the problem. \:\)

Another thing to do is copy the password from your email and paste it into the password box, don't type it. That way the password is put in correctly even if you've accidentally left the caps lock key on, and you avoid typos.

Help.
I need help with Village Sim. I just upgraded my palm to the new palm tx. When I did so, my registration code no longer works. I am trying to find out how to get it to work. My village is on pause waiting because I can go no further on the trial version.
Please help.

As you know your reg code is set to your palm user name. So if you have a new user name on the device your old code will not work.

What you will need to do, is submit a support request here and they will take care of it for you.

I have sent a message through the support page 4 times. They have not responded. What is the expected response time. I am very anxious to start playing again.

Carla sent you a private message. I checked with her and she has responded to each of your support requests. Have you checked to see if her emails have gotten caught in a spam filter or junk folder?

Yesterday, I was helping my cousin make an account and she got the email but it took about 30 mins before they accepted her account. How long is it supposed to take for your account to be approved???

It depends. We only have one person doing the approvals, and it takes longer on the weekends and evenings. Approvals don't happen at all overnight. \:\)

There are a couple of options. You can log in with the temporary password and then go to My Stuff, My Profile and set your password to something that you like and can remember, or I can send your existing password to the email address that you registered for the forums with (which you can then change via your profile, if you like). Let me know which you'd prefer. \:\)

Sometimes you have to use your user name, rather than your display name, to log in. If you don't remember what that was, send me a private message and I'll give you your user information. \:\)

To change your password, click My Stuff, then My Profile. You should never post your password information in the public areas of the forum, though, since anyone could log on as you and possibly create huge problems for you (including having your account deactivated). ;\)

I had to wait a little while for the second confirmation email, I think a couple of hours. After that I couldn't log in at all for an hour or two, then I couldn't use the autofill for the password.
Now it's all good! I love autofill..
And I love the site \:\)

Well i have registered this forum yesterday and i found nothing difficult to register this forum. So i think there is no any problem with this forum. The problem can be with your internet or computer.

Peterson, the last post in this thread was five years ago, in 2008, and the post you replied to by Mochajew was in 2007.
