Hello Miss Barbara and Miss Kathy and LDW friends!

I’m so excited to finally be playing VF3 on my iPad! I’m on the 3rd generation and purchased the Rockhound Certificate from the Store. Unfortunately, I am only able to dig on an indicated spot successfully about 1 in 12 times no matter how many times I drop one of my peeps on it. I’ve tried using different people in the family and even resetting my game. Immediately after purchase of the certificate they were able to dig after dropping them on the spot once. Now I can drop, and drop, and drop them and nothing. Is there something new I’m missing-like a next level certificate or something for certain spots? Wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue?

I've been running VF3 on an iPad throughout development, and I don't have issues with being able to dig up the minerals. However, I think VF3 is a little bit fussier than VF2 when it comes to dropping peeps on various areas of the game (and especially collectibles).

Some tips that might help you...
  • Make sure that you hold the peep over the collectible until the message "sees the collectible" is displayed, then drop the peep on the collectible
  • Don't have the display zoomed all the way out (very small), since that can make picking up weeds and collectibles difficult

Thank you for the tips Barbara!

I have tried your second tip already but not the first, which I will pay closer attention to. Interestingly, I started having issues picking up any collectible then I removed the west flower bed and was able to dig again. (Incidentally: That flower bed and the East one stay dead no matter how much they are watered. I’ve tried changing to the cactus garden also, can’t seem to keep them alive. Need to get further into generations maybe? Not too worried about it yet, I’m still early in the game.)

Update: Your first tip of hovering did the trick! And I just realized the gardens were dying because of “time warp.”

Thanks so much for the update, Angel! I'm going to ask the engineering team to increase the size of the area where collectibles are recognized. It seems a lot of people are having that issue, and making the "drop zone" bigger could help a lot.

Yep! Time Warp causes 4 years to pass, and not many gardens can stay lovely when they're not watered for 4 years! shocked
