I wish we can buy paint to change the color of walls. Would like to move first large bathroom, somewhere. Like an option to move button. Also, change office & workshop room to another location. Change kitchen or color of counters. Would like to have a map. Where we click on it we can go to beach, to collect sea shells & it will put the coins automatically in. Would like to go to garden area to collect butterflies. Will there be any new updated to game or is this it?

What game are you referring to? If you are playing on a PC or Mac you can use mods to change certain areas of the game.

Mods stands for 'modifications'. Since you are using Windows you'll be able to use them (iOS and Android users can't as they are unable to access the file system). That is assuming you have downloaded the game from this site; some portal sites prevent access to the files.

The VF2 mods forum contains some user-created mods. Before starting, make sure you read the installation instructions thread. In particular, make sure that files are backed up before installing!

If you have any knowledge of image editing you might be able to create your own mods; there are general instructions in the mods forum. If you do create a mod, why not upload it here for others to enjoy? The posting guidelines are here.

If I can figure out how to install mods. What does the mods do? Do they change furniture, wall color, etc? Also, Do they just show up in game or do I have to go to files every time to put what I would like in?

Yes, depending on the mod, of course. Mods change the image files. They can make many changes, but in some cases they are limited as they only affect images, not text or the basic way the game works. For instance, a particular item (or set of items) of furniture could be changed to look very different, but they will still appear in the store under the old label. As I said, take a look through the posts in the VF2 mods forum. Each post shows a picture of the mod, often in situation in the game.

I know that some portals 'wrap' the games in their own software that prevents users gaining access to the game files. I don't know about BFG.

Can you navigate to the game folder (usually a path something like C:\Program Files\Virtual Families 2)? If so, can you open the \Images subfolder within that? If you can't you won't be able to use mods.
