Hello Raeperk. Adding to what arnie said, be sure to purchase the "Usable Couch." It's the one with the description "While still usable, this couch looks like it was abandoned at the curbside by college students who..."

Drag the Usable Couch down from the Decorate Tray and place it in your house. The tutorial should acknowledge it and stop asking you to place it. Please let us know if this resolves the issue for you.

That's what got me in trouble in the first place. My person was tired, so I bought a couch, THEN discovered there was one already there. I took that one out and sold it. As I stated before, I have repeatedly attempted to place a usable couch and it won't reset.

Just tried it again. the prompt is still there. But I also noticed that the orange furniture was also available. It's supposed to be locked until third generation, where I was when the game shut down.
