There is a problem with the way the number keys are working in VF2. When you press the 7, 8, 4, 5 you go to the proper part of the screen. But when you press 1, 2, 3, 6, or 9 you briefly go to the right spot and then you jump to the upper left corner.

Hi tara71. Are you sure you gave him the red can with the big "E" on it?

I just tested it on one of my peeps and it works perfectly (my peeps energy level went up and she went to exercise outdoors). smile

The images for the two drinks were reversed in the original VF. They are correct in VF2. laugh

I'm pretty sure you already know about these graphics issues, but since I didn't see them mentioned elsewhere on the boards, I'm bringing them up here just in case they have slipped by you.

1. The graphics are off on the details page. The progress bars don't go all the way to the right end of the closet space.

2. The item graphics fall a little low on the store pages. For example I can't see the full graphic of the padlock that says 7 in the Living Room Furniture section because it is hidden behind the "Done" and "Back" buttons.

My little adopted family says hello and that they love the new house! They say, small consturction fixes are inevitably needed in every new home. smile

Under special upgrades "Adoption" is checked although I have not adopted. I am still on generation 1 and have not instaleed the latest update.

Hello Mayfly. Did your little family already have 6 children? A "checkmark" usually means that the adoption option is not available for the current family due to them already having 6 children, adopted or not. smile

Whenever there's a sock or piece of trash in the 3rd bedroom(?) and the attached 2nd bathroom my people won't carry it. They'll pick it up then suddenly put it down and start smelling the room or other actions. They also don't acknowledge when the shower's leaking unless I put them on the tools. Try to get them to notice it and they'll take a shower.

Hi Jami. From what you described, it sounds like your little people think there's something blocking their path between the wrapper/sock and where it needs to go. Even though it was originally written for iOS, I think you'll find Section D #2 in Helpful VF2 iOS Tips & Answers very informative. smile

You are correct, the peeps don't seem to be concerned with malfunctions in the North bathroom. As you discovered, you can get them to fix it anyways. smile

I'll try those.

This last time they wouldn't fix the leaking sink. Started to then suddenly wouldn't. I had to close and reopen the game to get it to stop.

I've also had trouble with getting them to acknowledge/put out dryer fires.

I have done some testing and find that in my game this happens only when I exit a game and leave the bubble machine running.

Hi Jami, you can edit your post within the first 6 hours of posting it.

Sorry to hear that you're still having issues with the sock. frown Check out this thread and see if it helps.

I don't know if you have both a washer and a dryer, or what the furniture placement is in your peeps house, but I've seen peeps not pick up a sock just because the washer was a wee bit too close to the dryer, even though it looked perfectly fine to me. crazy

Try moving the washer to the middle of the kitchen (or even outside) and if the peeps will pick up the sock then you know for sure it's the washer placement. Otherwise I suggest placing a decor item in the Decor Tray and have a peep try to pick up the sock. If they still can't, add another decor item to the Decor tray and have them try again. Do this for each decor item until either your peeps are able to pick up and dispose of the sock or until you have no furniture/decor items left in the house.

Good luck. smile Please let us know when your peeps can pick up the sock. smile

Apparently the problem was a bookcase in a completely different room. How that works I don't know.

Hi Jami, Glad to hear that you figured it out. smile I'm curious, was the bookcase against a wall where, on the other side of the wall there's a stairway?

It was on the wall in a room near the hallway. Not anywhere near the room in question. Yet when I moved it, he could pick up the wrappers and socks that had appeared.

Little farther over.

Hopefully this'll mean they'll fix the shower and stuff again too. Because they stopped doing that as well.

I'm having a real problem with the kitchen upgrades. I installed the spice rack and my newest guy went over to it 10 times (well, I gave up after 10) as if he were stuck in a loop. It's the 2nd generation and that's the only upgrade I have in the kitchen. I'm playing on Windows XP.

Hi ajuma. I think you'll find this thread informative.

Rest assured that your little person is making progress in his career, you just won't see it while the game is running. You will see it after you've had the game shut down for a bit.

Purchasing the next upgrade (coffee maker) will make things start working properly again when the game is running. smile

Thanks Miss Kathy! I guess I'll have the peeps collect things and clean up instead of having them work while I watch.

I'm going really slowly with this one family, so I'll let you know if adding other upgrades changes anything.

You should still have him work while you're in the game. You just won't see the progress he's made right away. It looks like the guy works and works without anything to show for it. When you re-open the game later you will see that his progress bar "caught up" with the work that he did while you were "watching".

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it, and it's not a problem anyway, but on the page where you first enter the game there is a square just above the leftmost attic window that brings up the change player screen.

Kathy, the thing is, I don't know when I can safely pick the peep up and move them to something like eating a meal if I can't tell when the cycle ends.

I haven't had any game play problems yet laugh But one esthetic issue I noticed is when I bought the kitchen career upgrade and fully stocked with food, the food items lay over the coffee pot. No big deal really, just thought I'd mention it smile

LadyCFII: In the game that I mentioned, (buying the spice rack caused a work loop)I bought the coffee maker to see what happened. It DID take them out of the loop, but then they made coffee 3 or 4 times before continuing their work sequence. They DID finish the sequence though...which is better than looping between chopping and spicing!

In the next generation, I'll add one more kitchen item and let you know what happens.

I hired the maid in all of my files, and she worked that day, however a day later when I load the game the maid never shows up. There is work to be done...I'm worried my peeps were just too messy and she ran for the hills. OK maybe not, but still...any idea where the maids ran off to?

One way to tell if a work cycle is finished is by watching the tools/things on the counter/work table....when the cycle is done there will be a "CLEAN" surface until they begin anew

Dragoness, there are a couple of reasons that you may not see the maid. I've explained one of the reasons in this post, and the other is related to the accuracy of the computer's system clock. Do you mostly play your game at night?

I don't know if anyone else is having this issue but my interest amount has gone weird. When I first started it was the normal 10% for the first 2 maybe 3 families I started but I noticed after starting the 4th especially, that instead of that amount it was giving me a really low random amount. For example, the family was supposed to get about 70 coins in interest but they got 17 and later for another family it was supposed to be about 120 coins but they only got about 30. Is this a glitch? I really don't want to have to start all over even though I'm still on first generation for all. If anyone knows what could be causing this please help!

If I remember correctly mododge, the interest isn't paid all in one shot, but over time. I think it's every hour or so, but I may be wrong about the time frame.

I just got the PC version. Love the game! But, I'm having trouble with one of my little people. She works in the office so I bought her the shredder. She never gets paid for working and her progress bar never moves. I saw the messages about the coffee maker, which I also have for the hubby. He's working fine. I tried exiting the game and restarting (with the game paused and without pausing), and exiting and leaving it overnight. Nothing is helping. She just makes no progress or money. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, that's a bug in the game that we're working on, but there is a workaround. You can find out more about it in this discussion.

Thanks for the quick response. I exited the game but without pausing it. I came back after a couple of hours at church and still no progress so I tried something else. I had bought the shredder but not the trash can, so I added the trash can. Now my little gal is making career progress!! Yay! So my question is, do I buy my little guy the spice rack to add to his coffee maker, or do I just leave well enough alone since his work cycles are doing just fine with only the coffee maker? Thank you for another great, CLEAN game that I can play and so can my 8-year-old. We have all 5 VV and now both VF and we love them all.

Hi Silvermoon

I too have run into this problem in a couple of generations. In my experience I found 1 career upgrade stops the career progress for that room. Purchasing a second career upgrade for any other room starts their progress again. I have stopped buying the career upgrades for a while. I am in my fifth generation and they are getting expensive and I am saving to fix rooms. When I am ready for more career upgrades I am planning to make sure I have enough money to buy two at a time.

Good luck and have fun

Mayfly, I noticed this too. I think I'll go with your suggestion and buy 2 at a time!

Honestly, I'd rather just pay the money to bump the career up instead of buying the upgrades right now. I get them all eventually, but for right now, it's cheaper to upgrade the peep instead of the office! smile

I love the career upgrades, because they make their work spaces look much more used and lived in. And they provide benefit to all subsequent generations, not just to the upgraded person. wink

It's a thing they might want to fix in future updates, which is why I posted it in the same thread as the other things they might want to fix.

There's no need to yell at me about pointing out a typo; I'm trying to be helpful here. frown

It's most certainly not a grammatical error. It's an error, plain and simple. It is certainly helpful to LDW for this sort of error to be pointed out. It's hardly game-breaking, but is the sort of thing that can easily slip through even the most rigorous testing.

NO! My computer froze while playing the game and I couldn't even get ALT CRTL DEL to work so I had to do a hard reboot and it erased everything! Now I have to start all over from the beginning! *sobs*

The shower in my second bathroom is not "functioning". I drop a peep on it and they just walk away. They will use the basin for brushing teeth, etc., but no one ever uses the shower. It's an obvious glitch in my system. Anyone else having this problem?

Yes, that does seem to need more work, Sundance.

The peeps seems to have their "own" shower, usually but not always the one in the first bathroom. I've seen peeps brushing their teeth in one bathroom then walk all the way to the other bathroom to use the toilet or the shower.

Today I had the event where my family contacted the EPA about the toxic room. They were given a tube of cortisone cream and all got sick.

But, my family cleaned up the toxic room a couple of generations ago. It hasn't been toxic for decades now! Surely this event should be turned off once that room has been cleaned up?

What I've noticed about the second shower is that I can get the peeps to use it if they're "not feeling fresh" but not at any other time. I've also been very careful to keep that room as spartan as possible. Only one adult sized bed.

I don't think this has been mentioned yet and I only just realized it myself, but the "White Nightstand" that can be purchased in generation 7 is duplicated with no indication of one being for either left or right of the bed. I will take a screencap to indicate what I'm talking about if need be smile

I am in my 6th generation in my game. In 4 of my generations I have had kitchen workers. I have bought 8 kitchen upgrades to date. My "dad" in this 6th generation does not ever finish a work cycle while I am watching. It doesn't matter if I put him there or if he goes over to the kitchen on his own. I have read the earlier posts about peeps not working in the kitchen and I am wondering if this is part of the same "bug"? I have not had any problems in any of my earlier generations with my peeps not finishing work cycles. Even when I bought the spice rack I did not have any problems. When I come back to the game after having been gone awhile I do see that he has made progress. So I know he has been working while I'm away. He has no dislikes at all. So, as I said, is this part of the same bug or is this just a quirk of this particular peep?

Candypanda,

It does sound like the bug. I think it only affects one or two professions. When it happened to me the peep was a Truffle Critic (what sort of job is that anyway?). He wouldn't finish any job cycles, wandering off partway through on another errand. He actually made very good progress when the game was off, and he became a Master quite young.

I don't know if this will count as a bug but....
I opened my game and saw Sandretta ("my" 4 year old child) standing on the counter in the kitchen. She then "magically" teleported to where the second bathroom would be. shocked

Thanks for letting me know Arnie. My peep is a mail-order butcher and like your peep he makes good progress when I'm not around. Who knows, maybe he'll become a master at a young age too!

That use to happen with my peeps when I first upgraded. Try dropping your peep(s) a bit away from the shower and they'll gladly go in it.

I think that's it swedane. The placement is a bit different in the second bathroom.

I just wanted to give a quick update about my peep who is a mail-order butcher who works in the kitchen and won't finish a work cycle while I watch him. He has mastered his career and he is only 44 years old! He is the youngest career master I've had. He has earned his retirement if he wants it. However, if he wants to continue to work that's okay. I still have 2 rooms to remodel yet.

This really isn't a bug, but something I realized about the game. In the Flea Market, you often see DVDs right? I looked through all of the categories and no DVD player in site!!

The description says something about the peep putting the DVD into the TV, although neither one of the TVs (especially the old, cheap one!)have anything that looks like a DVD player! smile

I think we're supposed to assume the DVD player is a part of the TV. I've bought DVDs a couple of times for my peeps and they walk to the TV and then to the couch and sit down and watch it.
