For those that want a leg up on creating their fish database file I setup an MS Excel 2003 worksheet. It features dropdown lists for Fin and Body type to save you from typing or coping/pasting.

Unfortunately the dropdown lists don't work on the Pocket PC version of Excel (PPC 2003) but once items are selected they will be displayed on the PPC version.

NOTE: this is not a cheat nor does it list the result of combinations.

Got any questions let me know.

I tried opening it in Excel 2000 and got no drop downs. Is that a feature of 2003?

If I try to save as an older format it seems to lose the dropdowns.

I found this tutorial on a web site that has a tutorial on creating dropdown lists that is different than the 2003 way to do it. I don't have an older copy of Excel handy to try it now but can do so later. If someone tries this let me know if it works.

The drop downs work in Excel 2002.

Just for completeness, I opened the file in Excel 2010 (compatibility mode) and the dropdowns work fine.

Thanks! That will probably help people, since that spreadsheet was made a long time ago. laugh
