I have a little boy names Spok! He even has black hair. I also have a boy named Bong, but I changed that one... Would love to hear other funny names.

I have had two people named pickle but I changed them. Do weird names count if you came them yourself? My friend was over the other day and changed one of my doctors names to H. Gayforth, M.D.
Later she told me the H stands for hideous =D

My red-headed boy triplets are Opu, Opi, and Ofi, and they are ALL runners. I also have Pilipili, Wapi, and Tongatai. Love the new names! No idiea how they get them, but they're wonderful!

This topic is quite interesting to me, as I decided to rename all my villagers in VV1 so I would know what their jobs were. The farmers were all named after various things to eat--including game animals, then later landscaping materials & plants. The researchers were named after office equipment & research supplies, and builders were named after...you guessed it! carpentry tools and supplies. Some of the names popping up now remind me of those villagers.

What got us started was Tuna being a good farmer! So we added Kahd, Sammon, Eel, then Elki, Mooci, Boui (for Caribou), Haam, Yaki, Stahr (starfish--okay, you can't eat it, but it was a "fish" of sorts!), and Chikn.

Our Builders were: Hamur, Wuud, Nael, Weelbarul,Shuvl,Levul, Mortur, Laddur, Skaffuld, Brik, Plane, etc.

Our Researchers were: Offus, Pyn, Ink, Papur, Ruler, PeeCee, Chayr, Tabl, Kubikle, Beakur

Doctors were Herb (which came with the game), Penicillin, Dr Pepr, Syringe...I don't remember any more. VV1 was quite a while back, and I'm having a senior moment. My kids are having to help me here!

We finally gave up renaming everyone when it just got too tedious, but when we have a new villager that looks like one of the originals, the kids will say, "Hey, that looks just like Moosi, or Elki". [Our Elki was the REALLY UGLY one]

I have to confess that WEWE had me a bit nonplussed. I finally convinced myself that it was pronounced "Whewie", and went on my way!

One last set of names: We had a runner named Noposi. We changed it to Nopoki. When we had lazy ones, they were Slopoki and Nodu.

You can see we are all eccentric crackpots here at our house, and it's contagious--the kids are getting that way too!

I started a game and found I had a Poi, Poh, Pod and Popi -- and just to make interesting, there was Cakau and Jam.

I thought for a moment of changing Cakau to Cake, but I'm not sure a combo of Pio, Cake and Jam would pass muster with the gourmets... lol

I just had a girl assigned the name Bikini. (I am NOT making this up.) It's now Bikina, since -i is a masculine ending in my tribe's language.

(NOT funny: The feminines are -e and -a, w/ the guys also getting -u, -o, and the consonants. All this based on the very first names in my VV1 and my practice since, which turns out to match the large majority of the program's random picks.)

Also, the woman originally labeled Pickle, one of the founding members of the tribe, immediately became Pikle, getting rid of a) one of the very few exceptions to the consonant patterns otherwise used by the generator and b) an annoying distraction.

In an earlier tribe, Kayak became Kayaku merely to avoid annoying me. I had no problem with Truk, but his son, originally with the identical name, is Truku.

P.S. My M.A. is in Linguistics. Life does influence one's gaming.

My chief is Akuaku. One of my original women at the start of the game was Hula. I changed it to Hila because I didn't think Hula was a very dignified name for a Master Scientist. I had trouble taking her seriously. Her daughter's name is Raiatea, which I really like.

My funny ones are popo and hoto.

If Pichu honors the guiding hand often rename him Pikachu, and if Pikachu finds a crystal rename him Raichu

I once had a girl named Pickle . She looked just like my chief, Cola, which was confusing at first. Cola is a funny name too.
