#12282 - 07/11/05 06:54 PM Village Sim suggestion

I am really enjoying the Village Sim game and have solved all but the last puzzle. I just wanted to offer one slight suggestion. When you are not logged into the game when a villager dies, it is almost impossible to know which villager died unless you have all the names memorized. Thus, when you reach a large population of 65, it is almost impossible to know which of your beloved villagers reached the end of his or her life. I would like to suggest listing the names of the deceased on the tombstones so that when you point to one of the tombstones with your stylist it will state which villager is resting in peace. I have no idea how complicated this might be to achieve, however. It is a small detail but one which might enhance any further versions. Thanks! Rebecca

The only problem I can see on that is space limitations. I've played one game straight for months, and have went through countless generations of villagers... Loved them all, but there would be no way (at least on the main playing field) to accommodate all the needed tombstones. Perhaps a separate "graveyard" screen or something? Still, that's a heck of a lot of tombstones.

There is one thing that village sim does not have, a ending after you have solved all 12 puzzles I was wiating for a end but it never appeared. Is this a error on my palm or is it part of the game?

Currently, there is no announcement that you have solved all 12 of the puzzles!!! It's not your PDA!

Honestly, I have no idea if they plan to add this to the current updates. It would be a nice one though!!

What would also be nice in the form of continuing updates would be the addition of new random events patches every six months or so. Little stuff like that shouldn't take much development time, I assume, but would help to increase the replay value. Different people play different ways but at least in my approach, once I get a good mastery of the game, I start letting bad things happen to see if I'm good enough to recover from them. My first time through a typical game, I'll always save before a battle or something risky. Maybe it's a battle I shouldn't have fought, maybe it was close and the odds might go my way the next time. Purists call that cheating, I know. But once you're really good at the game, you can see just how good when you let things go really bad, see if you can recover from that.

I'm not just suggesting bad random events, mind you, nice ones would also be fun.

The game, in general, needs more depth. It definately draws you in for the first few days of play, but once the majority of the puzzles are solved, and island events start repeating (which there are too few to begin with) I found it boring. Unfortunate, because conceptually, the game is fantastic.
