Bunkbed mods - 06/25/13 02:21 AM

I can not really do mods. I was wondering if someone would do, if it can be done, some bunkbed mods for kids. And maybe something besides those awful bean bag chairs.

Just thought I'd ask.

Bean bag chair replacements are doable. The problem with bunk beds is that the kid needs to fit on the bed. They will lie on a particular part of the bed image, and with a bunkbed that might create some very odd effects where the kids body would appear to be lying over the supports for the upper bed. Also, no kid would lie on the top bunk ever, because that's not an area programmed for sleeping postures.

When you say "something besides bean bags" do you have anything specific in mind?

Thank you for your help. You are so right about the bunkbeds. They would look cool though. lol
My brother is interested in something like the Papasan chairs. I think that would be cool too.
The bean bad chairs, to me, are to big and just so plain.
Thank you for taking time to respond to me.

Something like this? I'm not really happy with the look of the base; I think it needs to be darker. And it's still huge, because it's only slightly smaller than the beanbag chairs. But papasan chairs are huge in RL. I can clean this up and put a variety of these in the mods forum. Any particular colors?

It looks great. If they are still huge, can you scale it down a little? If not, that's alright too.
As far as colors go, I know I don't like the dark ones already on VF2. I like lighter colors...yellow, blue, green. Here is a link I found with the shades of those colors.

Yellow-green-blue

Or even white. Or cool patterns that match around the house.

Whatever you can do would be wonderful. I really do appreciate it, as well as my brother. (I have him hooked, lol.)

Thank you so very much.

I have looked at and managed to download some of the mods (other players have been so kind to share)into a new folder in documents on my computer but how do I add these to my virtual families game folder? I am using a windows 7 pc. thank you

Hi there, Thanks for the help and advice unfortunately I still cannot manage to do this I must be doing something wrong even though I thought I had followed instructions properly and step by step so will leave it alone and await the upgrades from LDW as they come along.

Okay, I finished up the papasan chairs. There are some lighter and some darker colors. Patterns are tough because if they are linear (stripes, plaids) they have to bend to match the puffy cushions. I played around with patterns some and may try again when I have time.
