Ok I tried but for the life of me I cant figure out how to get boiling water! HELP PLEASE!

get a rock from beside the stairs to the research lab. take it to the fire it will glow red drop someone on it and they will put it under the pot

Wow Thank you Esther. I was wondering about that pot when I saw
"still need 3 herbs" so I knew I needed hot water *L*

Did you put water in the pot BEFORE trying to put the hot rock on the cauldron? There are two types of water -- salt & fresh. A villager needs to retrieve the water.

If you look at the bottom of the waterfall there is a stack of brown bowls, also some on the path above the waterfall. use the bottom bowls for salt water and the top ones for fresh water

Grandma, you drag a villager over the fishbones. He/she will take it to the fire and then into the lab.

There is small pile of rocks near the bridge to the research "lab" drop a villager on the rocks, they should take it to the fire.

There are brown bowls stacked near the fresh water. Bring a villager to a bowl and he/she will get the water.
