Problems with the store not restocking inventory

If you are having difficulty with the store, and it's not changing inventory on schedule (every 4 hours for version 1.00.04 and later), there is something that you can use to try to force a refresh of the store's inventory: go to the store screen and press the R key on your keyboard ('r' for restock). If your varied items have been failing to restock, this code should restore it to a normal schedule. Note: This will only work with versions 1.00.04, 1.00.05 and 1.00.09.

Well that is cool. Is this sort of a cheat code or will it only work if the restocking is broken? I would love to be able to restock the store at my discretion.

This key is not a cheat code, and you won't be able to restock your store any time you want. It's intended to fix broken stores.

Lady, my store isn't broken but doesn't seem like it updates every four hours...it's more like every 6 or 8. I tried the r key like you said, and it instantly updated. Thanks so much for this post.

Is it supposed to be a permanent fix, or will we occasionally have to try the "r" button to make sure it is not stuck? I ask because the code worked for me twice today, once right after you made the original post for this thread and again about 4 1/2 hrs later. I am not sure whether the store updated during that time because I did not purchase anything this morning.

Once you use that key, your store should begin restocking on schedule. There is no harm in using it again if you notice that the store is not refreshing, but we don't think it will be necessary.

I've used it and if it is just about ready to restock it will instantly do it. Kinda nice if you only have a few minutes to play. I have 6 families and now that they are in their 3rd and 4th generation I basically have them just making money so it takes me about 1/2 hour to go through all the games for maintenance unless I have a new family and then I have to feed and baby boost and all that fun stuff so they can have a baby
