I was charged $285 for it. Only had $108 at the time, so I got it for cheap.

I think the $ amount varies for all emails and events.

I had a promotion. My male person is a novice recipe maker now!

So here's a couple of the emails I've received which've cost my family money and since there's nothing you can do about them, you're stuck paying....

Subject: Bad Cookies

Dear Susan, remember those oatmeal raisin cookies you baked for me last week? I appreciate the nice gesture but one of the raisins was hard and it chipped my tooth. Since I had to see a dentist, I think its only fair for you to pay half the bill. Your share is $20. You know I hate going to the dentist.

It's time for your annual association dues. Fees are based on individual career level. Your cost will be $9. It will be automatically deducted from your bank account.

I got an event where my neighbor gave me a free hammock =)
i was actually going to buy that in a few minutes so good timing!...i would have wasted a lot of money...

I also got an email sent to the wife saying something along the lines of "Hi, remember me? I didn't think so. Well i remember you. I don't like you. This town isn't big enough for both of us so I'm moving away."

i was so confused...

I got one saying I overpaid my taxes and got $24 back (I think that's how much...somewhere around there)

I got an email from an old high school friend called Jimmi to brag about his achievments and that he was doing great.
How mighty fine for him I thought, the random emails break up the day I feel.

Tax Audit
Result: Overpaid taxes by $91, which was credited to account.

A sportcoach see's you child playing and wants to train your kid for 200.00

Send kid to traning= you get 200.00 but your kid leaves the house

A talent agent offers you $500 and wants to take your child to Europe to make movies.

Say yes = $500 in the bank....your child leaves (forever?)

I got early on the IRS wanting money, cost $7
Just now an email announcing Jenny in accounting had a baby and they took up a collection, cost $35 for his share.

Here's 2 more events I've come across:

Cooking students want to do a cooking class in your kitchen.

Yes, let them - Class was amusing and they make a big mess but leave a fabulous meal on the table.

A Talent Scout spots (child name) playing in the yard. Offering advance of $500, the scout suggests taking the child to Europe to finish school and star in a series of movies. (Child Name) will be too busy to visit home but that sure is a lot of money.

Agree - (name) is taken off to begin a life of stardom and advance amount is wired into your account.
No Way - ....?

A delivery truck was rolling by, and a package bounced out and landed in your yard. The package appears to be addressed to your neighbor.

Open the package - 3 lovely paintings.
Give the package to your neighbor - ?

Office Collection

Had to give $24 because the bosses lawn mower sank in some mud and he couldn't mow his 18 acres.

Cooking class

I let them do it, they made a big mess but also a meal.

No = The talent scout is chased away and warned not to come back.

Open all faucets - it's a good thing the faucets were open, the pressure would have been too much

Throw out food: Lose all but a small amount of your food
Take a chance: Still looks okay, but mine got a tummy ache afterward. Easily taken care of though.

Professional Career Trainer

Someone stops by and offers career training for $250.

Yes, accept training = immediate level increase on skill level.

Rare Bird

Someone stops by and offers to install a bird house to increase chances of attracting rare birds

Yes, install = installs bird house and gives you a bill for $304.

Neighbor brings you a bird house

Accept it - you get the birdhouse and he charges you $ for it
Decline it - the neighbor moves on to find "a more friendly neighbor". Or something like that!

A note left on the porch about a broken basement window, a pea-shooter aiming issue and "here's what's left of my allowance". I think I got $4.22 (four dollars, 22 cents).

The Trainer

For $5, a trainer will come in and train you about your career.

Unfortunately I said yes, and he ate all $900 worth of groceries in the house, and didn't advance anyone's career.

Learn from my mistake, and just say No.

I had the same thing, but i picked no. Even though he didn't happen to be my favorite, how could i give up my own kid? i was afraid he would never come bak. Now If it said he wood only be gone for a year or two...

I presume throwing it in the trash does nothing (but I've not tested it ofcourse.)

Yet another bad event for me...

I just had an email event that I don't remember the exact wording but the just of it was my guy did some copywright infringement with his job and lost all career progress for that level. Kind of a bummer he was almost ready to hit next level.

one was from the local grocery store with sample foods in it, the second one was paintings.

email to my man.. was his birthday and someone sent him a ten dollar gift card with a picture of a birthday cake on the front because "one size fits all" lol

Ugh!!! I just got an email saying I owed $459 in tax!!!! I didn't even get a say in this, that is meeeeeeeean!!!!

I got this one twice, but my little lady did not seem to be too upset. =)

I had that one too, but I had just graduated to the next level so there was no progress to lose, whew!

I had to pay $10.00 to enter my little beauty in the contest. She was awarded 8th place... but only seven entered! lol

I got one several times where it said if I wanted to enter (random child) in a beauty contest. I lost 2 times but won $100 one time.

I actually chose "no" and nothing happens.

I heard that happened to someone else but it was there mum and son, I think they said it was a bug that would be fixed in the next update thingy.

I just got one where someone showed up at the door offering to boost the career for $100 and all they did was eat all of the food(left it @ $0.00)and then left with no boost in career! What a con man!

I had one where an earthquake destroyed some/all of my house repairs. Not sure if it was some or all since I only had one repair at the time.

The Career Change Counselor

(Name) has been approached by a career change counselor who will help (name) change careers free of charge. Note that the new career will start at Level 1.

Options: Let's change or No, thanks! I am doing fine.

I decided to take a chance since I can't get my woman to focus on her career as Meat grader anyway.

It said, "Working with the career change counselor, (name) discovers a new passions and is excited to make progress."

Her new career is a Chewing Gum Designer.

The Rare Bird
Your neighbor says he spotted a rare bird--wants to put a birdhouse there

Of course, do it! He installs it but ends up billing you $295

I felt the earth move...

My first adopted Feliana is doomed to spend her life as an apprentice toy maker; everytime she's close to promotion a complaint e-mail comes and takes away all her progress



She also suffered from a grave illness. And her family is unbelievably unlucky; most of the events popped up are bad ones, unpaid bills, alergies, etc. I'm scared to open the e-mails.

I am beginning to wonder if some "bills" are a percentage of your money??? What if you did not have $400???

My neighbor charged us $308! I could have bought it at the store!

My neighbor charged $250, and I thought HE was a ripoff artist!

Is she painting the toys with lead paint?

Talent Scout:

Offered me 500.00 to let my youngest child go to Europe.

Send: 500.00 dollars and my kid left. I'm not sure if it's forever or until she hits the teen years(she was only 7).

I had that and sent the kid off to be a film star.
Here's what happened:

I wish that would happen to me! I always get the one where someone accuses my work of being false blahblah and my person loses all progress toward their next level.

As long as she comes back, I'm happy. She was one of my favorites. Kind of wish she'd have some profession that is sort of related, though. Oh well...

I just had a neighbour give me a free hammock, that was a nice touch.

That happened to me with a family that already bought a hammock. I didn't get a second one, but the family went outside to celebrate. It looked like they were suddenly all excited over an object they've been relaxing on for a couple years. LOL!

And in my other family I got this email from the uncle who broke his tooth for the hundreth time, and he charged me 100$. I'm planning to send him some poisonous cookies

A strange man, who introduces himself as Mr. B, arrived at the door and offered to buy all your collectibles from you. He will pay $20 for every common, $30 for every uncommon, and $100 for every rare, for a total of $980.

I told you how I paid 1250$ to taxes. I think they realized how unfair it was, and returned me back 830$ first then again 960$

I try this every time in hopes of getting a winner so I can get the trophy for it. So far, no luck. Once I get the trophy, I will probably always say no to the offer, since my chances of winning are so slim anyway.

The "Professional Trainer" charges $250 and your little person will advance in their career (get a promotion.) The non-professional (can't remember the exact description) charges less and eats all your groceries.

5 out of 6 families have gotten the free hammock.

I was scammed by the birdhouse guy as well. (Asks permission to set one up in the yard then charges more than the store price for the cost of the materials.)

The sheets sent COD to the wrong address are nice and are a bargain compared to store price.

I've had several strange packages left at the door, all of which turned out to be groceries. All but once they were organics too.

I would love to see a compilation of the events, especially those that give a choice of how to respond.

THE SCHOOL FUND-RAISER

"There is a group of children on your doorstep selling some super yummy Peanut Butter and Yogurt Popcorn Balls as a fund-raiser for their school. They cost $25 a case. Will you buy a case of popcorn balls to help them out??"

(I thought: OMG, if I buy it, my 5 babies could be ill... But, I may buy, help them and put it out to garbage...)

OPTIONS:

Sure, why not? --> "The children excitedly take the money and hand you the popcorn balls. You gain 100 food!!"

No way. --> ???

I said yes, and I only had $83 in the bank, neighbor charged me $265, after I said yes my balance went to $0 then immediately to $13...so I got the bird house for about $70.

I got a event for a career change but it will send me back to lvl 1 but im at level 2 what should i do?

Orphan Child

There is an event where a child is found on your doorstep alone.Your choices are send them to to children aid and take the them in.
I picked take the kid in and it was the best decison now i have three girl triplets and and added fourth one and everyone loves her from my first one and my other game i got a little boy which is great cause my couple is infertile and keep getting distracted.IDK what happens if you send her away

As far as paying back taxes or overpaying. It's 10% of your money so if you have $2000 onhand, you will either have to pay $200 or gain $200

I got an email that said

I've had that email several times but have never noticed anything actually happening. What do you mean when you say that you were directed to a bug?

You know how if you go to the details screen and the screen moves so you can se the person? Well the same thing happened. After you get the email, don't click on anything until you see it.

Trying to be vague here so I don't spoil anything.

Ah I see. I will try that next time. Seems my impatience may have been causing me to miss out.

If you want to avoid paying the back taxes, or loss of job progress in the e-mail about copywrite infringement you can I don't normally cheat but I was so-o-o-o frustrated, my peep was almost at his next level and I had been saving for my third upgrade and I had four copywrite notices and six back taxes notices at a cost of over 7,000.00

The Neighborhood Childrens Association

Well, one of my couples were infertile and I tried the baby boost too late when they were in their late 40s.

The man died and the widow immediately got a marriage propsal at 63 from a 64 year old. I wonder if you only get marriage proposals if you don't have kids when the mate dies.

I turned it down and fortunately a little girl came to the door looking for a family so she adopted her. I was sweating a little and thinking I might loose that family and they will die out. But one thing I noticed is that the dead husband was removed from the family tree.

I've had it several times. One family in particular got it twice, possibly three times running. I remember thinking that it looks like Jo is not to be trusted as s/he can't keep promises, as well as being some kind of nutcase.
