hey my doggy is up in heaven. her name was Shasha. she was like 7 real years old, and she was potty trained. she was black except a long white streak down her neck and a little bit of white on her paws. she never bit anyone, but when she was hurt she only yelped, and she even was potty trained, when she had to go potty, she was by the back door, and waited for somone to open the door. but one day my dad's nose was getting stuffed up and we had to keep her outside. because he was allergic, we had to give her back to the animal shelter. And probably because she was to old, she was put to slep. se was so sweet!

A lot of you read the poem I wrote in another thread called "My Friend." In light of this thread and since my dearest friend AR just lost her friend, I wanted to share the poem with you again, but with a twist. You see right after I wrote this poem AR put graphics to it, and sent it to me. I was delighted with the end result and share it now, with all of you!

For those of you who can't read it, the text to the poem is:
My Friend

I once had a friend
so young and so bold.
My friend and I frolicked
in sunshine of gold.

My friend liked to play
in fields and near streams.
My friend would not stray
too far in my dreams.

My friend liked the children
both those young and old.
My friend would watch o'er them
when out they would roam.

My friend was so special
to more than just me.
My friend was much more
than a mere dog could be.

My friend was a hunter
of all hidden things.
My friend would find treasures
and then home them bring.

Oh maybe not a treasure
to you or to me.
But, to my friend it was special
to give them to me.

My friend has gone on now
to a place I can't yet go.
But I know in my heart
that it's where good doggies go.

Up there in the heavens
where Jesus does live.
My friend is now waiting
and again, plays with kids.

Ah, that is a sweet poem. I am a dog-lover but I am a little disappointed today.

My neighbors dog came in my garage this weekend, snatched our cat from my kids and fatally wounded her...while the family watched...it was truely traumatic. I was not angry at the dog...he came and licked my crying face immediately afterwards...sigh...but I wish the owners would've trained or kept up with him better. They had allowed the dog to run loose and catch strays. Unfortunately, he couldn't tell the difference when it was a pet.

It is sad, and if the owners don't take care, the dog will suffer. As loyal family members they deserve better.

Dont't ask me where I got it. Sorry about the cat. Some owner let his dog chase my cat, too. Luckily for me, she escaped.
