I believe that after 100 it goes into
beta and if you're not a beta tester you have to wait. I might be wrong, but it was this way for PT.

We do maintain a waiting list for beta testers, but it's only fair to warn everyone that we already have far more people who want to test the games than we can possibly put into our beta tests. If you're interested in being placed in the queue, you should have a look at

Are your beta testers chosen from active members of the forum? I didn't realise you kept a list, until someone on another forum mentioned VV and we chatted and they told me - so I came right over and filled in all my details. But if you only choose, or prefer, people who have been coming here regularly for some time, I guess I'll be pretty low on the list.
Do you know (can you disclose) when beta testers will be contacted?

As I mentioned a few posts back, we do maintain a waiting list, and there are a lot of people already in our tester database. We don't disclose the criteria that we use to select testers, but we notify those who are chosen by email a few days before the test begins, using the email address supplied in the application, or an updated one if we are notified of a change. Obviously, if we don't have a current, working email address, the notification will bounce, and an alternate tester will be selected.

wait, i have an idea now, of when VV3 would be realeased.
On Jan. 7, the progress bar is at 60
now 68 percent, on Jan. 22
22- 7= 15.
so, if you guys keep up your speed,
Jan. 7 = 60%
Jan.22= 68%
Feb.6=76%
Feb. 21=84%
March 7= 92
March 22= 100% !
This excludes BETA TESTING.
I may be WAY OFF Track.

In the past LDW have signed an agreement with BigFish Games that they should have sole distribution rights for the first few weeks. (At least, that's what happened with VV2 and PT.) Assuming they strike a similar deal for VV3, that means that other distributors like Incredigames are likely not to be able to sell it until about a month or so after the game is released.

when I first played vv1 i thought, this is soooooo my favourite game all time then when vv2 came out im like...wow number two and it was totally awesome. Now vv3 is coming out and nobody can take the suspense until finally a sneak peek comes out. Sometimes i think aren't we spoiled to have all the game-makers slaving away typing in computer language while we sit back, relax and nag them to finish it...thats why I like the tribute to ldw. I sooo cant wait till vv3!!!

I wonder if the game will be available for download by the end of this month (March). The progress bar seems to jump 10% about every other week or so. Or at least, that's about how offten I check it. I'm so excited.

Before a program is released it is given to a limited number of people to test, to see if they can find any problems and make suggestions. That way the game can be tested on a variety of machines, as well. Once the beta testing is finished, the game is released to everyone.

Well, in
this post, where Carla announced the name of VV2, it was the 20th of December in 2006, and she said that the game was coming out in time for the holidays. That's not a lot of time from the announcement to the release.
EDIT: I just remembered that the game really didn't exactly come out in time for the holidays that year.

The best thing to do is to submit another
beta test application, provide any new or updated information (along with your old email address, if it has changed), and indicate in the "tell up about yourself" field that you are submitting updated information.

I think it took about one month, though it was pretty similar to the first one, so I'm guessing that this one will take longer. this one looks totally different, so there might be different things to work out.

i can't wait for vv3 to finally be available.. i enjoy playing all the isola games, and thought it might be interesting if when a game was completed if somehow they could all be connected so all you would have to do is switch from one game to another, and i mean all vv games as well as fish and plant tycoon almost like a separate village game.

i can't wait for VV3 to be released but i hope you can still get research points in this one after you solve all the puzzles. All my researchers left the table and went to do landry or to relax when i finished buying all the tech points in VV1 & 2.

That happens in VV1, but not in VV2 for me. They will happily keep researching in VV2, even though there are no more tech advances to buy. They
can buy new outfits, though; perhaps that's why they carry on working.

Is there anyway I can pre-purchase the game?
I have to use my Pay-Pal to pay for games, and it takes 6-10 days for the E-check to clear, and I don't want to wait that long.
If I can pre-purchase it now, then when the game comes out, I can download it, enter the activation code and just go.

There is a game called Escape from Paradise. It is similar to Virtual Villagers. You have to build huts, gather food, gather wood, solve puzzles. It has mini games to play also. It's a pretty good game. The object is to escape from the island you have been shipwrecked in. It does not run in real time like Virtual Villagers. Although I like Virtual Villagers better, this game is also fun to play. I hope this helps.

Well I've tried escape from paradise, and it doesnt come close to VV nor VV2. the VV series is much easier to understand, better storyline, etc etc...
VV is just way better! (to me)

westward 2 is a very good game. it is similar to VV, but more similar to the sims i suppose. im stuck at setting up a wood trade thing....pain.
but i really hope VV3 comes out soon. everyone in my class loves it and plays it. we cant wait for the 3rd to be released. good luck producers! i am interested in beta testing if users are allowed to.

Now that I am a plant Tycoon multimillionaire I have discovered Virtual Villagers. More addictive than PT. OMG I am on my 2nd game. Looking forward to VV3. Will I ever get away from my computer? First thing in the morning while I have cofee. Then I check in during the day in between chores. Last thing I do before I go to sleep. Wonderful games. When Im at work I compare real people to Villagers. LOL

makes you wonder what the last part of the puzzle will be or ending of the gamem I sure hope it will be done soon out of all my other games i have vv 2 is the only game that is better than vv 1 and I asume that vv3 will rock the boat ldw games.

I thought it would never move up! Oh I want that game now! I know this is selfish but I want more Pictures! I've seen the page Lady CFII posted with all the pictures on it and everyday I just pretty much stare at them drooling just imagining what it will be like to finally play the game after the long wait.
And have you seen the picture where it is a picture of the game screen and it looks like your looking at a cliff? It's almost like we will be able to turn the camera up and look at the cliff.
And wouldn't that be awesome if VV4 was 3D where you could zoom in and out!!

Wow. I don't really read internet articles coz I don't know where to find them. 99/100 for a test makes me frustrated because I don't know why I was so careless to miss out that 1 mark. 99% out of 100% of VV3 also makes me frustrated because I don't know whether my mon will buy it for me when it comes out or not. So that's another common point they have!
P.S. The first point is that they both happen during "Test Period". Beta Testing and School Tests. My tests start on May 5th. Wah!!!!!
P.P.S. I think my forte is making really long paragraphs which make everyone who read it sleepy..make that a no. It makes ME sleepy.

I wonder when they actually started developing this particular game. It seemed to just start at 60% in January, but I wonder how long they've actually been working on it.

The left hand side of the screens changed too with the pictures!! Gosh, I can't WAIT for it to come out!!!

At the bottom of the page, click on "Last Day of Work Main Site", then at the top, on "Preview"!
