Your favorite Island Events from the VV series!!

This poll doesn't have choices, since there are so many Island Events in both of the games. Please tell us about your favorite events, as well as those that you didn't like. Your opinions will help us develop the Island Events for VV3!!

Well, I like virtually all the events, but I'd be glad to help!
Among the "general island events":
The day when villagers go honouring the dead
The barrel of babies
The old friends
The celebration day could be little more festive and fun

I like very much when we have the choice between two "answers":

In VV1:
The prodigy child (I prefer it in VV1 rather than in VV2)
The old drum
The suspicious monkey

In VV2:
The savage child
The fastest runner
The spyglass
The bump on the head (it's funny)
And, of course, the events that may help to increase the villagers skills, the tech points or the food!

Oh! I like the others but it would be too long and I don't see events that I really don't like

I liked the liquids and vials in VV1, but u sorta lost them on VV2, u should bring 'em back in VV3

I like the events that give hints to other games, like the nightmare, but it would be better if they did something.

Favorites...Barrel of Babies, the savage boy, the Mirror, etc.etc...they have many good ones!

Least favorite? Got to be the hole with the snakes, and the bag of fireants! Also, 5 of my viable villagers sailing away...

I too loved the Barrel of Babies and the savage boy. I kept him and his cute little painted face. I didn't like the fire ants either. They killed a 7 year old and that totally bummed me out, for reals...

I LOVE VV!!!

I loved the coconut event in VV2. My sister was playing in one room, and I in another. She asked called out to me the lines in event box and I unwittingly asked in return, "How do you get huge coconuts?" The whole household just bust up laughing!!! rotfl

Anyway, in addition to agreeing with the users above:
- I don't like when my people turn into other people... that is just too freaky.
- I'm not sure how I felt about losing my FAVORITE villager because she heard voices from beyond the bushes...
- I LOVE receiving babies via "barrell/crate mail"
- I like anything that increases tech (or skill) points, or food, yes, food ones are good (regardless of whether I get more or less food).
- I think that the wild animal element is done nicely in the event section without having to actually deal with too many animals on my screen.

If I think of any more then I'll add them.

My FAVORITE events!

VV1 - the vial that makes your villager a child again. Y'know, where they smell the liquid and it smells like porridge.
VV2- the runner event.
And Barrel o Babies, of course!
VV1- the trapped whale event. I love that you get an option to save the whale or eat it. There should be more animal events.
And I loved finding the crate of bananas.
Oh yes, and the old friends event from VV2! A real life-saver, that one!
And I love watching my villagers celebrate!
And let's not forget the silver mirror event from VV2!

The Prettiest Villager gave me a few laughs:D

VV2- I liked the event "Old Friends" It's saved a tribe on a number of occasions.

i like the cheeky monkey in vv1. infact, i like all the monkey events!

what is the prodigy child one?

It's an event who says that one of the kid is a trouble child who seems to be prodigy, you have to choose between let him farming or researching. It's in VV1. (In VV2, the options are building or researching, but it's less interesting and less helpfull I think.)

I believe that's a spoiler Laurence, u should indicate that.

anyway,My fave events are:

the prodigy child,the barrel of children,the old friend and that whale event.


I didn't like the gong,the bag of fire ants or the bag of diseased rats.

Of VVI I (and II) I love the drawings and the way the villagers move along the island. The mushroom-picking kids and the sound of the kiss just before villagers "go indoors" make me smile.
In VV I I like the fact that people pay tribute to the dead, and that they enjoy the garden.
I just started VV II, so I don't know much about that, but the caring for the babies in VV II is so sweet !!!! Changing diapers and all .....

I like it when you get two people fronm the other side, and the barrel of babies. Excelent if your short of peeps at the begining of the game. Oh! and anything that adds food to your storage at the start of game.

Barell o' babies and the Savage child and the Sunimeg and Geminus(they kinda read it backwards lol) and the useful items sent Via sack.

i like when the villagers ring the gong in VV2/ but idk if thats concidered an event

I love the smart-cookie above, but that is off-topic. I discovered more island events that I like:

- ringing the gong
- my hospital .... it really saved lots of lifes and my villagers recover so well in it
- barrel of babies, yes, I like it.

I like the island events with the viols that returns a villager who drinks it turns back to a four year old, and the event that nothing happens that honer the elders is a bit disapointing I don't like, as that one is a bit boring.
The other events I like is
Honering the dead,
The ones that you are given a choice are my fave events.
Oh yes the barral of babies.

I like the choice event that gets you a new runner! A tip about the choice of whether to open that crate: if its "compromised" or other wise sounds negative, don't open it. One of my children was killed from that event! The drinks are a little trickier, I haven't figured out a pattern yet.

I like the Prodigy Child. Got a 4 year old Adept Builder from that one!

Very cool tribute to the player when the villagers lined up and greeted "The Guiding Hand."

For VV1, my favorites included the Prodigy Child, babies in a barrel, any event which gave tech points or food, the wind which refreshed the berry bush, and the vials.

For VV2, I liked Biggles, the Fastest Runner, Old Friends, Greeting the Guiding Hand, and Honoring the Dead.

I didn't like the event which completely decimated the food resources (The Foul Passing)as it happened when I kind of needed the food nor the measles epidemic in the first game but that was mainly because I had around 60 children at the time. Overall though, I liked all of the events (even the ones which went against what I really wanted or needed) because it made the game trickier to beat and keeps prologing the game play as anything can change in an instant if the player isn't careful.

I really like the event with Biggles. I'm a little jealous of some of you people because you've had events that I have not. They should have events more often.

I liked the man in the boat,( medicine upgrade). Barrel of babies and the couple who fell down the waterfall (friends reunited).And lastley the whale.

I am jelous too. haven't even had a Biggles. What is that?I think they should happen more often too. Mybe in VV3 they will make the events happen more often.

I haven't gotten the 'man in the boat' one! It sounds interesting!

I like when the dried meat in a sack washed ashore & gave my village 1,500 food points. Anything That gives U food or tech points is good !!!

I LOVE getting the beached whale event in VV1 especially early in the game, because its always a positive outcome for me.

I just started a new tribe a week or so ago, and my 1st event was the beached whale. I woohooed! when I saw that.

i liked the ones where the kids thought that they were best and had races. i didnt like when a new villager came and ate all my food

I love it when it is a bundle of babies! Anyone else get that?

Prettiest villager was annoying, the girl wouldn't work. I did like the Old Friends and the Savage child ones. They were big help. I also thought Guiding Hand was good, but it could be improved. Like the villagers, after "greeting" could work at the skill currently chosen/they are best at and produce twice as much progress for like ten minutes to celebrate what the guiding hand has chosen as their carreer .

I Love the little mystery's of finding out what the crates and other stews are when you combined them.

I experienced the "guiding hand" today and didn't really understand what it was about. There was an island event that resulted in them all celebrating (Blessings Day I believe), then they stood around, looking back and forth as though waiting for something. As I selected each villager, it said "greeting the guiding hand".

Michelin, you are the Guiding Hand!
Because your cursor is a hand and you guide your villagers.

OH! Ok that's almost creepy lol. If I can be the Guiding Hand for these virtual villagers, who is to say I am not someone else's virtual villager? Deep!

btw, if I AM a mere virtual villager, I wish MY guiding hand would guide me to the gym more often!

I love the Old Friends event in VV2.The Coconut one is also funny!

i like the barrel of babies, savage boy, the one were the cocunut falls on your villager, the mirror, vials, pretty much all except for the rats and ants.

The Biggles one is when a man named Biggles wants to be left

villagers get off the island by boat, i liked that. Maybe have villagers build the boat and fish for larger fish.

i kinda like em all... i mean even the bad ones have a good outcome, the sack one where the rats come out gets ppl sick making it where you can make 1 or 2 new healers

I havent had the man in the boat yet. I cant wait.

So far i like the one when it gets to hot to work and the villagers all swim in the lagoon. Its in vv2.

I like the wheather so hot , the villagers swim in the lagoon because they cant do anything else.

I like anything that makes more food, has an outcome, or creates more villagers. I also give points for realisticness and creativity.

Who's had the silver globe event from VV2?I made him keep it.The next thing I know he's a Trainee Parent and then another villager loses his skill!LOL!

I like the one where one of the villagers finds glass with red liguid in it and if you drink it he never feels the same again. I don't know what happened to him but I'm thinking it may let him live for a long time or something because someone said that in VV1 they had a villagers that was over 200 years old! So I'm hoping thats what happened to him.

I also like the ones that make villagers disappear and never return.

i like the one in VV2 where you get the mirror. i just started another tribe in VV2, and i got that same event two times in five minutes! so now i have two extra villagers, yay!

In vv3 I like the one where one forgets his/her name. After that they are "?" and I think they gain skill too.

I love the "aromatherapy" in the bath in VV3!

I'd have to say now that the return of Biggles and the canoe are nice, but it would be better if there were more villager gettings. And the reflection does hint at "spoiler"

I like seeing them all stomping on the ants in VV3, although I can't say that I like the effect of the event (losing food) that much!

I agree with you Arnie... I laughed my head off watching them stomp around. It was hilarious.

Just had the "Cold Weather Snap" Event. All huddled to the fire to be warmed. That's how it happens in my part of the tropics!

I like them all, but my absolute favorite is the one in VV3 where the you can choose to have the villager runs from the bee and realize how wonderful her legs are.

I've gotten that one twice now and both times it made me so happy to suddenly have such a productive villager!

My fav events are as follows:

The man in the boat
The barrel of babies
The reunion
Celebration of the guiding hand

The rest are good as well!

I had a visitor from another part of the island show up and stay. This was in the Nature faction, and he was very intelegent...did not say "NO" to any type of work he was assigned...Great with the women, too...lol

I had the same event and the villager disliked work. I kept having to drag him back to whatever task he was assigned to since he was always wandering off. Perhaps it was because I kept a special eye on him and he wouldn't settle in any one task he went on to become an Esteemed Elder (farming, building and research) at a fairly young age.

I like the return of biggles event - it has only good outcomes and it amuses me to know that the legendary "biggles" is back!

I like Old Friends, from VV2, where a couple comes down the waterfall. At the beginning, when I first got the game, I thought that was suppose to happen. Then, I realized it was just an event

i just really like the barrel event, i mean how could they survive squished together in a teeny barrel?! What if one got sea sick...?

I love any event that brings a villager. I mean come on who knows what you could get!

I like any event that adds skill.

I just love the Barrel of Babies. I love all the vials you can drink, and my least favorite is when the poisonous spiders kill a villager.

I seem to be just a little bit behind in these polls because two VV games have been released since they started, but here's my comments anyway.

My favorite event in VV1 was a mysterious potion that one of my adults drank to become a child. Since he was an elderly master builder at the time, it was a huge bonus for my village!

I like the Biggles visits in all the games, even though he rips your village off sometimes. It's cool to see a friend popping in from time to time.

I like any events that result in someone liking to run. The person in VV2 (or is it 3?) getting chased by a bee is also a nice lesson for real life people.

I loved the event in VV2 where someone gets bumped on the head. That happened to me right away in VV2, and the person who got bumped suddenly becoming an adept scientist was a huge help. She (who I renamed Terra like in Final Fantasy VI) was my first Village Elder! Whee! It turned out that my amnesiac was the adult that the children got left with. Oopsie!

I don't like the events that result in someone mysteriously vanishing though. I know someone's gotta face bad things to make any game realistic, but it always seems to be the most talented villagers that end up leaving...
