What is your age group?

Our forum community has decided that it would be nice to be able to see the age demographic of people playing Virtual Villagers. So, to assist with that request, here is a special user-requested poll!

Of course, statistically, this info only pertains to the users who seek out the forums for one reason or another. There could be thousands of septugenarians playing who simply haven't accessed this poll.

I'm quite surprised, I would have thought my generation (being that we are generation www, if you know what I mean) would be playing a lot more. Then again most of my friends play games where you shoot stuff. Personally I like the feeling of playing god! Lol.

Hubby plays GTA:San Andreas on PS2(I can't stand the language, horrible role modeling, etc but it's stress relief for him) while I yell at my (right now) four groups of little villagers. There always seem to be more anonymous users browsing than registered ones...it would be interesting to know how they fall into the poll...hey browsers, register and vote, won't you? : )

I would have thought that more teens would be playing, but I guess we 30's group still rule the roost!!

I want more polls. For instance, which is better--Palm or computer? I play the Palm game more because it travels with me.

I'm one of so few in the teen (ish [19]) group. And I actually carry around my laptop with me, so it's just about as portable. (although hoping to get a new one soon, since this one's getting old, or rather full of games)

My dad is 37 doesn't even play this game. He says it is boring but I don't agree!!!

You're not too young! The group of us in our 30s is just happy other people our age are playing!

Hubby laughs at me with how I always have to "check on" my little villagers...he went to use the computer this morning and read some of the main strategy guide. When I went over to bring up the games, he reminded me not to let the berry bush get depleted without having tech points to get better food for them! (hee hee) Still can't get him to try a game...workin' on it.

I was surprised not to alone with lots of kids. I think I was 3rd most popular age group - most surprising!

I'm in the 4th most popular group - and glad to see others of my age playing. I thought I was the only one as most others seem to like the shoot-em-up ones or not to own a computer!! This is a great game and look forward to VV2 coming out.

OMG did I ever open a cam of worms when I asked for this poll. LOL I just wanted to see if I was the only soon to be geezer who played this. The last time I was a member of a game forum I was the oldest person on it but at least 10 years... and I was 36 at the time!!!!

I'm in the 50s group. Or, as we like to say around the house, the group where going to the doctor for any ailment means immediately hearing "well, as we grow older..." Doesn't matter what the illness is, that's the first thing you hear.

When I was playing EQ in my late 40s, there were many nights where I was grouping with a stellar group, with a terrific warrior "puller" who looked fierce, pulled fast and furiously, and role played as if he had conquered many worlds. After a few hours -- usually around 9 pm in their time zone -- the warrior would tell the group "aw, man, my mom says I have to get to bed...8th grade bites..."

In five years of playing that game, I never got used to the collision of the online persona/graphic and the reality on the other side of the screen. I'm guessing the poll here is pretty much accurate of these kinds of games.

Oh, I said all that to say that no one of any age should feel out of place. Heck, if I was one of the villagers, I would be elderly! Or more likely, one of my two skellies because I didn't put enough tech points in Medicine yet. (sigh)

(And if you don't know what kind of game EQ is, I just made absolutely no sense. Won't be the last time...)

If you're having fun playing the game - go for it. It may help you learn patience....or not.

I had to vote in the 20s range, but I must say I will be 30 in May, so I'll be changing soon to the most populous group. *laughs*

My group the 20's would have been more popular, its intresting to see who is playing. Maybe you can come up with more poles men vs women, work in office vs dont work vs work at home, etc......

I, and my friends who play the game, are all in the 38 to 50 range.

I'm 30 and my ten year old daughter is just getting into this game (I wouldn't let anyone else near the computer until I'd finished the whole game!).

Well, I am in the second most popular group, and I must say I feel a lot less like an obsessed loser! LOL My fiance has laughed at me for playing it so much! Glad I'm not alone out there!

I'm 30 (female) and I have started a game for my 11 year old son - its a bit too low-key for my 7 year old, though. I'm surprised an 11 yr old boy would play it, there's no violence...maybe he doesnt know that yet lol.

I get the same thing from my husband. He sniggers at me when he asks if I am playing with my little people again. I told him "Playing God is addictive!"

yaelle, you think it's low key now, btu wait until your son comes to you because he can't figure out a puzzle, and then you can't figure it out either! you will be just as addicted as us!

I voted for my own age range but my daughter (who's 5) is becoming much more obsessed than me. She's back at school and gets annoyed that she doesn't have enough time in the morning to check on her people and that she's having to pause it while asleep and at school. Wish I'd voted in her category now and was quite surprised to see that there was as many as there is in the 5-14 group, athough I'm sure there's more they just have't been on the forum!

You could add her as a user of this Forum, and have her vote under her ID. Don't if that would work for sure.

I love this game. I am in the 14% group, so I guess I'm a little old, but I sit for hours watching my little people. Checking on them is the first thing I do each morning. I check on them often during the day. Thank you LDW folks. This game is the best!!

With the new server and having to re-register I think the demographic is going to get skewed.... I just voted for my age group again.
