What makes you choose how you dress your villagers?

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 01/21/09 05:35 PM

I mostly choose to dress my villagers according to their job. It makes it easier to keep them on task. I used to dress the whole tribe in one uniform (male/female) and set up my own little Utopian Society, but that made it difficult to determine which person was whom and what their function was within the tribe, so I now just mainly dress them according to their job description.

I dress the doctors all in white, and will change any villagers that are already in white but not doctors to a different set of clothes. I don't assign uniforms to the other jobs.

Often, before I've built the clothes hut or if I can't yet afford the tech points, I'll choose a villager to become a doctor simply because he or she is dressed in the white uniform. smile

Usually I dress them according to job... I had a set uniform for each job, but now I can't remember them... blush

Oh, and Gamey, shouldn't this topic be "The VV2 Clothing Hut"? smirk wink

I do that too, it makes things easier.

I too dress up my doctors, except that I dress them in blues. On occasion I dress my villagers up according to family, but usually according to age as follows:

All those who are above the age that the women can have babies are dressed in red (except VV1). Older villagers with a higher title (or in VV1 just older elders), who I've given into retirement get to wear white or black.

Then the remaining villagers are sometimes dressed according to jobs, &/or by age in groups. This helps me to see quickly if I have a lot of trained villagers or younger ones who are just starting out. grin

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 01/26/09 09:35 PM

I only redress twins and triplets to tell them apart. Though once I redressed a girl who's dislikes were "blue" in a blue dress to see what she'd do. She liked it. confused I was a little confused by that. Thought for sure she'd come out refusing.

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 01/27/09 01:23 AM

I usually only dress my villagers if a villager has the same head as the other & they are wearing the same thing unless trips or triplets or if I dont like the outfit for that villager.......

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 01/27/09 01:32 AM

I love dressing my villagers!!! Basically because I love clothes and fashion in real life, and the dresses in VV2 and VV3 are adorable!!! So I just pick whichever dress or outfit I like on them at the time, with the knowledge that it'll probably be changed again very soon!!!

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 01/27/09 05:17 AM

if there was a barber shop in Vv4 i'd give all my elders mohawks lol

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 01/27/09 05:52 PM

It's funny you said that, Rusty. I made a mod of that very thing. grin I first tried to make this head look like Aang, from the Avatar, The Last Airbender, but it was too small to see the detail so I opted for a spiked mohawk. grin

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 12/24/09 12:36 AM

Um... I only change their clothes when 2 people have same hairstyle AND clothes. However twins and triplets dress the same
so I can remember that they had the same parents and born at the same time.

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 12/24/09 03:15 AM

I don't dress my villagers... I think it's a waste of tech points (clothes cost tech points, right?) maybe i'm wrong...

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 12/24/09 05:55 AM

I don't dress them until I have bought all of the tech available. Then I will dress them according to the job I have assigned them.

It's not a waste of tech points if you have nothing else to spend it on grin

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 02/01/10 10:55 PM

If I get a villager in VV2 that looks like my fave villie, Ebi, I dress them in the white dress.

In VV3, there's a strict dress-code for jobs in my tribe. X3

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 08/02/10 02:49 AM

other...

if i have villagers that look alike and want to tell them apart at a glance, i change clothes on one of them.

i do try and dress healers in white and (what are they called? *fogrot*...) the peeps that are masters at 3 or more things, i try to dress uniformly.

Re: The VV Clothing Hut - 04/02/13 08:27 PM

I also dress them like if they dislike a color I will let them wear anything but that color.

If the like a color I will pick something that color that looks the best.
