Weakened villagers?

Weakened villagers? - 01/19/08 04:37 PM

My apologies if this has already been asked recently in another thread -- I did a search and came up with nothing.

Anyway, one of my young villagers (about 25) is showing as "weakened." At first I wasn't sure why, but now I think I recall him having opened a box that washed up on shore (one of those pop-up windows that comes up every now and then) that contained poisonous spiders, and he sustained "grievous injuries," according to the message box. He's not showing as sick, so I can't have one of the doctors heal him. I'm just wondering -- is he going to be "weakened" for the rest of his life, or can I expect this to go away sometime soon?

There are many causes for a villager to become weakened. They can be weakened by starvation, disease, on-the-job injuries, old age, and Island Events, to name a few. Some occupations are more hazardous than others, so moving them to a different job can help.

The only way to get them completely healthy again is to eliminate the cause of their deterioration (get more food, heal them, etc.) and allow them to rest and eat. Taking them to the food supply and repeatedly making them eat (at least 8-10 times) will improve their health, but they will get better on their own as long as they don't suffer further damage to their health.

Building and research are the most hazardous occupations and I think farming, healing, and parenting are the least hazardous. \:\)
