How long does it take for babies to grow up

The mothers put the babies down when they are 2 years old.

Does this rule apply to vv games and origins?

No. It depends on the game speed you're in, for VV anyway. I don't know about VV: Origins. It takes one hour for a villager to age one year in fastest speed, and it takes two hours for a baby to turn two years old.
