Why do they have such unusual names instead of English names???

I expect this is just for fun. We can change their names, however, I sometimes let them have the odd or silly name. Love the computer tech related names in VF1 & 2! Something that helps give Virtual Families such a vibrant, interesting game personality is its sense of humor!!

Why is it I can change the names on the computer but not on the ipad

I give my people names in alphabetical order, so I always know where I am in the lineup. So Alison and Brad had children Camilla, David, Ethan, and Frances. Frances and George have Harriet and Isaac. When Frances and George perish, whichever of their kids wants to have children will marry someone who'll have his or her name changed to something beginning with "J," and they'll have "K" "L" and "M" kids. At least, they will if they cooperate. Frances and George were supposed to have a "J" kid, but they refused to have more than two.

Mine all have Irish names..oft using Irish traditional naming..
I especially like using all the names of the Tuatha Dé Danann..

You might try asking in the Virtual Families 2 for iOS section of the forum; people there might be more likely to know the answer to your question.

There isn't a way to change names on iOS devices as the app isn't linked to the keyboard.

I name mine by generation. 1st Generation, A names...2nd generation B names...

The spouse keeps his/her own name so I know that they married in!

I have a spreadsheet to keep track of my families. I give each one a last name (because of the limit to characters, first and last names are fairly short). Women keep their last names and children take their father's name.
