Why? Everytime you run a app that needs admin permission, VV3 will gave you a error message. Disabling UAC is a good idea, but if you don't want everytime you startup it gaves you a red alert.

Better a red alert you can click to remove once per startup, than to have a billion annoying alerts every time you try to do... just... about... anything.

I upgraded (not downgraded, haha) Vista to XP within a week of buying my computer. I can't staaaaaand it. When I see a computer with Vista, my skin starts to crawl. Sadly I still have to use a Vista-infected computer to go online most of the time.

Yeah, Vista is a real pain. Everytime they upgrade windows I feel more and more inclined to change my system to Linux. But there is a way to make things work in Vista. It caused troubles with my games also (actually not just with games, but practically with everything). After spending days, eventually it runs smoothly now. You can consult your user guide booklets and/or your computer guru, harress people working in microsoft, etc. I still feel it's not worth it, but if you must work with Vista like me, I suggest you to put some effort on it and get back your computer again.
