[CONTAINS SPOILER] Missing _bug_?

I have been playing almost 400 hours and am still missing a _bug_. It goes in the glass on the bottom left. The jar sits on a book. Can anyone give me an idea of what kind of _bug_ this is and if there is some special plant you have to get in order to get the _bug_? I FINALLY got all 6 magic plants, too! Thanks!

its called a rare jet moth, i don't know when i caught it but if its any help, i only have 4 magic plants so it might be attracted by lower level plants. i have 2 bugs to go. rumor has it, that there is a suprise when you get all bugs. let me know if this is true, without a spoiler....please! good luck...sue

Yes, there is a surprise! I just completed my collection (also needing the rare Jet Moth...)

I already got that _bug_ in another game, but wasn't sure what plant attracted it to my greenhouse, and was catching many other bugs while waiting for it in the game where it was the only one needed.

The difference this time was that I just bought six seeds from the supply store and they matured overnight.

They were:

1. Viola Weeper
2. Painted Scandens
3. Nox Rare Oak
4. Rosaceae Grass *
5. Venomous Lemonbush *
6. Fragrant Fern

* These two were plants that I know I had in the other game, but don't remember if they were in my greenhouse at the time or not.

It's possible that one of these plants (or flowers or foliage) happened to attract this _bug_, or it could have been a coincidence.

I'm missing only one _bug_ too.. have been trying for tens of hours to find it. Apparently it's the Golden Spider, down in the lower right-hand corner. I've populated my greenhouse with several different kinds of sets of plants, Tier 4, Aureus (because of the gold), etc. hoping to attract it, but have yet to see one. Any clues or ideas?

I'm not sure if there is a specific plant, but I was playing around with making all the Ridgeballs last night and had some other Tier4/Tier4 combos.....I saw a LOT of those Golden Spiders (and finished my own collection! )

i got the jet moth with the level 1 net it came and landed on my cactus(cant remember the name of it but it is a pipe cactus with the really dark flowers )
i only had 4 plants growing at the time and it went straight to that one and landed on the top of it

About 7 or 10 Lilia Rideballs
1 Fourpetal Ridgeball
1 Jalapa Ridgeball

... And I think I also had some Weepers or some Fabled Lemonbushes..

hello again all, i just got the last _bug_ i needed and a surprise to boot.....please don't spoil this for anyone!! just playing around with leftover seed when this happened, so maybe the tiers don't have anything to do with collecting bugs. just luck of the net in my oppinion

Anyone know how to get the Common Cactus Spider? I had all my pots filled with pollinated Roseaceae Pipe Cactuses, but not a single one came. Help!

So, you are saying that different bugs are attracted to different plants! You are letting more secrets out then you normally do.
One question though.
How do you know what bugs you are missing if you can't click on the empty jars and get their names? Is there an image yet that someone posted that contains a pic of all the bugs and their names by them?
I am still missing 5.

I too need the Golden Spider, I have tried every combo of plants tier 1,2,3,4,and nothing works for me. I have over 600 hours of playing and I have not seen a Golden Spider yet, Iam begaining to think that they left it out."lol" Does anyone a suggestion on what I can do?

I didn't let anything out that wasn't in the Plant Tycoon release announcement: "Dozens of interesting insects to catch, some of which are only attracted to special, rare plants."

Check the Guides Section for pictures. Charley's guide in the Fan guides to Plant Tycoon thread has all of the insects.

I found that, but I didn't find anything with the names of the insects anywhere.

I don't think anyone has created a list of the names yet.

It would be great if some one had a list of of the bugs and what plant they came out to. Just got the rare Golden Beetle with my Ananas. Cool ^_^

OK, but what does a Rare Shiney Flower bettle come out of? There is no shiney plant.
And what about a Amber Butterfly? There is no amber plant.
Those are the last 2 that I need.

RARE shiny flower beetle = Tier 3 Flowers on Orchids.

the jet moth likes the fragrant catcus and rarly likes the ferns also i noticed.

i noticed that most of the butterflies come around my lemonbushes too. especially the fabled lemonbush...

is there a specific tahitian that the rare tahitian spider likes?

does anybody remember what kind of plant the Glassy Dragonfly is attracted to? i'm only missing that one and the Tahitian Spider.

i cannot remember exactly what i was breeding at the time i got it but try the tier 4 seeds and tier 4 plants. that is mostly what i was working on getting when i found it.

i just need the rare moth which i am working towards now.

i got the rare shiny beetle when i had tier 2 gladiatus and 2 and 4 tier orchids.

I was told Ridge balls, was the Grassy Dragonfly fav. Hope that helps.

I just played a game from planting seeds to harvesting seeds and did not have a single _bug_ pop up, almost 1 hour of play. Has any one else had that happen to them?

I believe I read a note that this happens if the system time is changed. The game sends out bugs and does other things based on the system clock. If the system time is changed in a certain way, the time that the next bug is set to be released may be a time and day that is already in the past compared to the current system time, and therefore that time will never arrive (since it has already passed) and there will be no more bugs.

Ridgeballs, can only be bought or found with the the mut. liq. and then bread!! Have fun

What Ananas, what mystic, what nox did it come out to, I need those bugs and I have an ananas, a mystic, and a nox, but none of them are coming

i just got the Glassy Dragonfly after planting two Multifloras.

I already caught the rare Jet moth and all I had were ball cactus.. I didn't see a common cactus spider until I had a pipe cactus in the greenhouse.

yeah, the Glassy Dragonfly definitely likes Multifloras. i've gotten *several* after having nothing but Multifloras planted in my greenhouse.

Yeah, when I was playing with my tier 4s I got a lot of glassy dragonflies.

I finally got the Rare Golden Spider, my last _bug_! I'd tried all the tips and waited a long, long time, and got nada, so went away and played with Fish Tycoon and my villagers and such for a couple of days. Tonight I came back prepared for a long siege, but lo and behold, the Spider came along within an hour of playing with the ridgeballs. I did have a little more variety of ridgeballs tonight, though.. before I had only venomous, aureus, and four-petal rb's, but tonight I added blazing and mela. Who knows?

Oddly, when I went to admire my pretty new spider, I found it's the only _bug_ in the display that doesn't move when the cursor comes near. I was a little disappointed, wanted to see it in all its glory!

Check again later. Spiders will sometimes build webs. If they do, they don't move while the web is in place.

OK......here's how I got the rare Jet Moth. In my greenhouse I had (and I'm going to be VERY specific!):

3 Fabled Lemonbushes
5 Nox Bamboo
3 Painted Bamboo
1 Daisy Bamboo
3 empty pots

It was a small butterfly and looked EXACTLY like the Nox flowers! So if you didn't see it land, then it would really blend in with the flowers. I said earlier in a post....(and I'm certainly NOT and expert at this game) that what helps me catch the bugs is having my blooming plants on the very bottom row. That way they have to fly all the way down and it's easier to catch 'em. I do have the Golden butterfly net.

I also always keep a row of Fabled Lemonbushes. They are my cash crop for buying Insta-Grow and Insta-Grow Vapobombs and Mutation Liquid.

One more quick question.........how much do you get if you get another rare Jet Moth. I thought I read in a thread somewhere that with one of the bugs you get a million dollars, but I can't find that thread now. Was it the rare Jet Moth???

There are no bugs that give you a million dollars. I'm pretty sure that you didn't read that here. We try to catch and correct any misinformation that's posted here.

After reading this post I went to my game and immediately caught a jet moth! I had a Nox Ananas there, and someone else in this thread said it went to a cactus with really dark flowers, which could have been Nox as well. I also haven't got it in my second game I've got running, and there have been no Noxes there, it hasn't been discovered yet! I'm doing it all randomly...

I got that one in my game before it was corrupted. I was messing a lot with tier 4s so it wasnt hard.

I think my jet moth turned up when I had a nox ananas. I didn't note it down. If not that then maybe a nox fern.

for the jet moth some friends say that you must have a nox flower growing in the greenhouse, but i tried and nothing happeed. for the golden spider try with planting ridgeballs, expecially tilia ridgeball.
