So far I have had villagers who like magic, nature, resting, dreaming, and quiet.
Of those, only one has appeared in previous games. So post the new likes and dislikes of your villagers here!

i've had a couple villagers that disliked children. 
it was kinda sad. and then one of them had triplets!

I have twins that disliked eating. There still alive and kicking at 34 healthy as can be so I don't guess they are going to starve to death.

One thing I love about VV3 is the new Villagers. I have Dolly Parton, Cher, Neil Sadaka and more. Did anyone else find villagers that look like celebreties? I am 67 and showing my age, huh? LOL

I have a brother & sister who both dislike the ocean!
I got 3 kiddies from a barrel event, and the only male of those kiddies is going to drive me crazy! He won't earn any skills levels now that he's 14! I keep on finding him sitting by the fire if I look away for a few minutes.

My eldest dislikes sleeping. He must be one exhausted person then!
One of my ladies likes potions while another dislikes cooking. One likes learning and dislikes ants. Her son actually likes ants though!
One of the boys likes plants while another likes pearls (
Guess we know who the girls'll like!
) and medicine. The next guy dislikes exploring (Well, we know he won't be going far from the tribe then!
)
My younger people... one likes stars while dislikes running and work. Another dislikes medicine. One likes work. One dislikes dreaming.
And my villager with the most likes and dislikes is the one who likes ants, as well as running but dislikes crab meat and papaya.

I trained a villager to be the farmer. No one else had more than a little bit of skill in farming. He became a master farmer very quickly. Silly me didn't notice that the little freak disliked fish, so when the fruit ran out he became USELESS. And to make it worse, not only did I have to train a new farmer, but the fish-hater had no skills in any other area and absolutely refused to learn. It took ages to get him to trainee in another skill.

I have one who dislikes learning. It took the better part of an hour to force him into some sort of task compliance! My most annoying though so far would be the children who dislike running, lol. I even named the one girl Slow Poke. Just so that when I clicked on her to grab a mushroom or item, I'd remember not to use her, it takes her forever to wander back to where she's going.

I have one child that likes children, another dislikes plants, the third likes coconuts. Good thing there are none or he would never leave the tree. Another little girl dislikes jokes and has skills in parenting, as does a little boy. Not sure how that came about. There is a woman who likes blue and dislikes flowers but is a master farmer. My chief dislikes crowds good thing there are only 15 in the village. One male dislikes the ocean but is always going to see the fishies. Another woman dislikes sunlight and pearls.

I did exactly the same! He was a runner, so the first couple of times he ran away from the ocean I took no notice. It was only when the food stocks started dropping that I realised.

I got a little kid with brown clothes and kida orange hair. Keep thinking the little brat's a mushroom.
Also, whenever I get a "useless" villager. I kill them off. Keep making them eat a bad potion or something. Too bad we can't feed them to the sharks.

ok i have a master scientist who dislikes alchemy..i kept trying to figure out why she kept running away from the potion pot..lol...other dislikes in my tribe, Wind, Herbs, stars?, and resting...meanwhile my 6yr old chief luvs her vegetables, one who loves mangos, and another who loves work!!

Two of my villagers dislike potions, so getting their health up is pretty difficult as they run away from the pot whenever I try to get them to drink. One dislikes rain (!) and hides in a hut whenever it starts, and a few others don't like stars, or surprises, which makes me laugh.

I have a Master Farmer that hates bees. He used to run like his head was on fire when I dropped him by the hive - but that was because there wasn't any honey! Now he goes over all the time and "harvests" honey - its hilarious! Talk about conquering your fears!
My chief dislikes cooking - so lucky all she has to do is walk around and "contemplate" the village... ;D
Also, I have an "extra fertile" female chief - I was trying to get her to do the rain dance and she bumped into a guy and now is out of commission for over 2 hours! *aaarrrgghhh*

I've been renaming my villagers in alpha order to keep better track of them. When I had a mama running around with the first "J" baby, I decided I would name him Jimi if he was a boy, in honor of Hendrix. To my great delight, Calypso set down a lovely young boy with a big afro, wearing purple and white boots and a purple 'guitar strap'! The geniuses at LDW have taken up mind-reading as well, I see.
I'm currently at "M", but holding out hope that when I reach "R", I'll be blessed with a blonde moppet I can name for Robert Plant...are you listening, Arthur & Lady CFII?

There is only one solution for a lazy girl like that - keep her pregnant once she comes of age. My lazy girl crawled everywhere and refused to work unless babysat constantly. But once she put a kid down, you never saw anyone run so fast - for the closest male!!! Oh the terrible things I have called her - Jezebel being the only printable one!
As a mother and grandmother, I was a little put out by the utter USELESSNESS of nursing moms. But I decided to give the folks at LDW the benefit of the doubt and see the moms as too busy for such menial tasks rather than useless.
Seriously though, all the lazy ones are good for is making babies!

I have one little boy who dislikes bees and pearls, several who dislike rocks and sand and one adult male who dislikes swimming, but is a Master Farmer. Go figure! And I have 3 adults and one child who dislike yellow. One of my little girls dislikes caves, and another dislikes fruit.

I had a girl who disliked learning, and I managed to make her an esteemed elder (research, healing and farming). And she also helped a lot to rise the population. But, poor thing died a year after getting her title, at the age 76.

My Chief, Samuel, likes learning. Yet he doesn't get to learn, because he's led the tribe since he was 8. Go figure.
One likes ants, one doesn't like eating (wierd), one doesn't like to fish (he'll only harvest honey and fruit, but RUNS from the ocean
). I had one born with the name "Peep", he likes to talk; of course, I didn't change his name, becuz it fits.

To the person with the Chief who won't weather dance. Kill him off. Make a bad potion that makes them sick and make the Chief eat it several times without letting anyone heal him. He'll die soon enough. Problem is that each villager can only eat once out of each batch of potion. But, shutting the game down will dump the current batch so you can make more and make them eat it again.

I had a villiager like this. I put her on a child to tell a story and the kid went to listen to a story and she took off in the other direction. as punishment i made her my villiage parent. He he he he!

I put her on several children to tell stories; she would run away from them.
I couldn't even get her to become a mother. Again, a man kiss her and she would run away.
She just wanted to be left alone.

I have a strange young man that dislikes talking. He's forever wandering off to do his own thing usually fishing. I eventually steered him towards healing and he's Johnny On The Spot if anyone so much as sneezes. Such a welcome change from VVII when you had to drag doctors kicking and screaming from the pond to resuscitate the infirm.

Hello,
I have finished one game and am now playing another one to try out a different faction but I have a wee question. I have a chief who does not like children (I have another villager in the same tribe who is the same!) but will this make a difference to his willingness to breed? I tried to pair him with my favorite parent and he refused A LOT!!
Is this just coincidence?

Disliking children makes it very difficult, but not impossible, to get a child off them -- you're correct there.

In fact, they will usually go fishing even if they dislike swimming. If you drop the villager in the water they will often run away. If left alone, however, they will often voluntarily go fishing. They don't seem to make the connection between swimming and fishing.

For running: like: runs just as fast as the kids
dislike:walks just as slow as the elderly
For medicine: like:will succeed in healing more
dislike:will take alot more time to train in healing
For the ocean: like: will fish more often
dislike:will run away when - is put in the ocean
For herbs: like:will succeed more in healing
dislike:will not pick herbs

I've never seen any measurable difference. When a villager likes fish he or she doesn't seem to be obviously better at fishing. What is sure, though, is that when a villager likes "work" s/he improves faster than the others. Similarly, a villager who dislikes work is difficult to train.
