We have finally added a gear store to our website. We are hoping to offer some really fun stuff, and try to spread the word about our games at the same time. We are currently adding many of villagers from Virtual Villagers...stay tuned! Here is the link: www.cafepress.com/lastdayofwork

Carla, the gear store looks great! It seems like you've already gotten a good start on the VV section.
As I don't know what you've got yet on the Fish Tycoon section (as it isn't done lol), I don't know if you've already thought of it or not, but have you considered a charm line? Small charms of each of the 441 fish, in color, that people could easily buy and attach to their existing bracelets? By now, you're probably thinking of the Italian charms but I was thinking more of the more typical dangling charms, heh.
You could even sell a bracelet on the site that's geared for adding FT charms, also. You, I think, would have to find a metal bead manufacturer, those that specialize in making metal charms, and talk to 'em about it but I'm sure you could probably do something like that.
I know that the Crimson Comet and Speckled Leaffish would sell quite well. In fact, I have a couple of ideas for those two - the Crimson Comets would go well with the fuschia or rose crystals, and Speckled Leaffish with the tanzanite crystals, in some of my beadwork designs (I run a small business, Catweaver's Beadwork).

Hmmm... I can't see the page at all. Even when I allow cookies. I'm not getting any security warnings, so I'm not sure why I can't see it.

Hmmm... I thought so, but I'll check. I know I have my settings to allow everything on LDW site, but maybe not for others.
Thanks Carla, that will probably fix it.

Dang... nope. I tried both IE and Firefox, both with pop-ups allowed. There can be only one culprit left to try... The mother of all culprits... NORTON. lol!

Brenda, did you try just typing the address in IE? Otherwise, since I am sure you can browse the web, why don't you go directly at www.cafepress.com and then type in ldw in the search box.

I am afraid that we can only put a logo on one side, but I will inquire with cafepress and see if it's possible

Carla, just so you know, I was able to finally view the LDW logo items, but ran into the same blank page problem when clicking on the link to other items. I can only assume it is my computer's Internet Security is blocking yet another type of script somewhere there.
I keep my security pretty tight, but I allowed all I could to see the LDW gear. But, as many other's here seem to be able to see all links, then perhaps it's nothing to worry about, and is just a "My Computer" thing. I'm only reporting it to you so you know what some computers encounter trying to view your neat stuff.

I think the addition of charms would be a terrific idea. I know that Joan Rivers has a line of egg charms for necklaces and bracelets, and although they are a little pricey, they are very nice. She sells through QVC, so you might check their website to research the idea. I would be very interested in the charms, especially if they were nickle free as I am allergic to that metal, and if you added crystals, I do not know if it would be more expensive or less, but my mind is racing with the sort of charms you could come up with for the Villagers.

Many charms out there today are pure silver or gold, or silver-plated-over-brass/ gold-plated-over-brass. Some are plated-over-copper. I've yet to run across those that included nickel. (As a beadweaver and a beading business owner, I watch those things in the market.)
As for adding crystals, it would make it cost more, yes, but how much more depends on the type of crystal. If one is talking about the Swarovksi leaded-glass crystals from Austria, they're between .04 cents to .15 cents per 4mm bead (obviously, it varies by size), the lowest price being the wholesale price. True crystal - gemstones like amethyst, rose quartz, diamond, etc, obviously would cost much more per piece.
Just some info from my vast repertiore of knowledge.

I noticed there were no gc items.Ha! We love you guys and what you do with your games, but were you afraid we would burn any tees with the gc???????? Of course if VV2 is going to be gc free, hey there is a good slogan for the new game,(GC Free!!) then perhaps that is why there is no gc items.?

Oh, sweet! There should be a big "Huh?" across the back or "Oh!"...well the ideas could get pretty funny. I liked the charm and mousepad idea too... Anyway, it's great and I'm glad to have found out about it. I'm off to start counting pennies

I'd like to see Virtual Villagers jigsaw puzzles! I like that idea. Going back to VV1 and making a puzzle of the GC "Making a Party" could be a fun challenge. :alugh:

I like all these ideas. Will there be any Plant Tycoon merchandise coming out? I didn't see any in the store. Have you considered keychains? These items are smaller which means they are easy to carry around and can easily remind someone of their game.
