This is my first story!!!(Pics soon to come!) Chapter 1 "You'll never catch me!" Swahili cried gleefully back to her brother, Kayak. "Don't rub it in, just because you run faster than the other kids!" Kayak was slowing down, winded and gasping. Swahili was used to comments like that. Since she was the fastest runner the other kids thought that it was unfair for her to be "It" when they were playing tag. She always got somebody within 2 min., and then couldn't be caught for the rest of the game. On the day Swahili turned 14, she ran around the village trying to decide what career she would learn first. She already had a lot of inherited skills from her parents. She sprinted past the orchard, admiring her mother's fast fruit-picking. Then she ran towards the researching lab, were she could hear her dad and Oro discussing what ingredient to put in the special potion they were making. "I'm telling you, Watu, the last ingredient has to be the cactus!" Oro said. " No way!" Watu insisted," It has to be the lotus!" They had been working for weeks, to find a potion that would get rid of the sharks without poisoning the fishers. Swahili ran in quietly, then went over to the table and picked up a Black Orchid. Eww! It smelled HORRIBLE!!!! She knew if she were a shark that smell would scare her away for sure! She quietly dumped it into the potion and ran off to the beach. "Hey!" Oro called, running after her." What have you done to our potion?" She ran down the beach as fast as she could, calling over her shoulder, "Watch and see!" Soon with the whole village was following. Swahili finally reached the beach, ran across the reef, and threw the potion in the water. Everybody held their breath, watching as the sharks started to swim away. "Hurray!" They all cheered," The sharks are gone! Fish for everybody!" Swahili grinned, jumping up and down, cheering as loud as she could. "Hey, everybody!" Her mother yelled across the crowd, " I propose a new name for Swahili! We will now call her Reina, which means queen!" Chapter 2 Swahili, or Reina, was now 17. Ever since she had gotten rid of the sharks almost everybody liked her. She had chosen farming for her job, but found it very hard to grab fish, until she found it was easier to grab them by the tail so they couldn't get away. she spent most of the time fishing, except when she was in school. The village had a special "after-hours" teaching session so the people between the ages of 14-18 could finish off their education and still be able to work. She was in one of these classes, listening to a class about parenting. "Now class", the teacher was saying," Parenting is a very important skill to develop. First you must know that pregnant women should not do any work that could harm their baby. Oh, and by Village decree, a nursing mother is relieved of all duties except child care for the first two years after giving birth. Any questions?" Reina walked out dreamily, thinking about Konu. Whenever she attended a class that she found boring she would daydream about him. He was a tall, dark-haired 18-year-old. She had knew she liked him, but had no idea how he felt about her. Oh well. The next day Reina woke up to find a bouquet at her door. "Oh!" she cried," These are beautiful! But who gave them to me?" She soon kept finding one of these every week. Flowers, fruits, and all kinds of different things. She was walking along holding one of the bouquets when she saw Konu bending over a bundle of flowers, tying them with a ribbon. "It's him!" she gasped. "I can't believe it!" She walked over and said "Konu, I really like you, and now I know you really like me too." Konu said, "Would you like to start dating? We're probably to young to marry yet." "Yes!" she cried joyfully." I do!" Chapter 3 "I do."`Konu smiled at his bride. Everybody cheered. Reina grinned as she leaned in to kiss Konu. She had dreamed of this day, and Konu, and now she was married to him! Things just couldn't get any better. She and Konu ran off to the feast prepared by the village. After the feast they walked down the moonlit beach. The next week Konu and Reina went back to their normal routines, working towards mastering their jobs. One day Reina felt horrible. "Oohhh..." groaned Reina as she sat down. "What's the matter, Reina?" asked her friend Miti. "I feel horrible!" she moaned. "I think I will go see the doctors!" That night she overwhelmed Konu with some very happy news the doctors had given her! Chapter 4 Reina was now nine months pregnant. When she had told Konu he had been overjoyed, and they were looking forward to the birth of their child. Remembering her parenting class, Reina took up teaching the village kids since it was less strain on her. She loved it, and considered switching her skill to parenting so she could spend more time teaching. One day she was walking along the beach after lessons a feeling came over her and she knew it was time to go back to the doctor. Miti saw her walking towards the medical area. "What's wrong?" she asked as he ran over. "The baby's coming!" she gasped. "Now? You need to get to the doctors room!" After getting her friend to the doctorr, Miti went to find Konu. When he came in he asked "Well, Is it a boy? A girl?" Reina grinned, "No," she said, "THREE GIRLS!!!TRIPLETS!!!!" to be continued Here is the COMMENTS THREAD.

Chapter 6 Bailey was running after Milla, calling "Hey! I'm going to get you!" Bailey loved playing tag, and her mom, Reina, said that she used to love tag too. Olivia didn't like running as much, but she was really fast. Bailey chased Milla for a few more seconds before turning suddenly and tagging Watu. She giggled at his surprise, then ducked behind the fallen statue.
Reina, meanwhile, was fishing just like she did every day, except now she was expecting another baby, so she took frequent breaks. Konu was doing very well and was a Master scientist, and he was pretty sure he had figured out a way to make clothes for everybody in the village. She watched as Milla and Olivia raced by before going back to work.
Olivia was running frantically, since Milla was right behind her, and she was it. Olivia looked around quickly, then ducked into the researching room. She hid behind the chalkboard, listening to three scientists arguing over different cloth textures. Another group was talking about the stars, and how they affected the tides. Soon she had been there for hours, surprised at how interesting the conversations were, and she only left after the last scientist left. She ran over to the hut she and her family lived in, and snuck in, hoping nobody was there. "Were have you been?" Reina demanded, pouncing as soon as Olivia tiptoed in. "Nowhere." Olivia said, laying down on her bed. The next day during the tag game Olivia snuck back in to the researching room, and kept going every day, learning more about science. She soon became one of the smartest village children, and even though she was the youngest some of the other kids started coming to her for advice. "Olivia!" one of the kids, Hina, was calling."Olivia, do you know were rain comes from? I think that it's a giant person, crying about something." "No, I don't think that is were rain comes from." Olivia frowned."I never really thought about that. I think it comes from the clouds, since it gets very cloudy when it rains." "Were does the clouds get the rain, then?" Hina asked curiously. "I don't know." Olivia sighed."There are so many things i would love to know. Like why there is rain, were we came from, were Isola is, how our ancestors got here, were we came from when our first ancestors landed on Isola, and how we can get back to were we came from." "Why would we want to go back to were we lived before Isola?"Hina asked. "I'm sure our ancestors left for a reason." Olivia just sighed."never mind." Hina looked at Olivia, but just shrugged her shoulders and left. That night Olivia had a strange dream. She saw a group of hungry, starving people. They were huddled around a fire, and nothing could be seen beyond the ring of light. There were two kids,a boy and a girl, and three adults, two men and a woman. there was a pot of something that looked like stew over the fire"It's almost done!" the woman said to the kids."Soon your little stomachs will be full of warm stew. Won't that be nice?" The two children nodded vigorously, hungrily looking at the pot. The woman stirred a few minutes more, and then gave each child a dish. the stew looked brownish and watery, but the children gulped it in delight. "We can't live like any longer." the older of the two men said. "That's not even real stew! One tiny fish and a few tree leaves for color! Why this wouldn't nourish an ant." The woman gave the man a look."I do what I have to!" the two children, oblivious to the adults, finished their stew and put down their bowl. "I'm tired!" the girl complained." I want to go to bed!" "Me to!" her brother agreed. The woman let them lay on the ground, and she covered them in a blanket. "You know we should leave this place!" the man said. "You know we should try to escape on the raft we have now, even if it isn't the best." The woman sighed, then looked in Olivia's direction and gasped. "Look!" she cried."A ghost! What do you want with us!?!?" "Nothing!" Olivia assured them."Who are you?" "We are the last survivors of the cave tragedy. All of the village wandered into a cave, looking for two that had disappeared a long time ago,and they never came back. We are on the first part of Isola to be inhabited by our kind." Olivia gasped. These were the people that were on the first part of Isola to be discovered! She assured them that she would not hurt them, then told them to finish their raft, and head around the eastern edge of the island. She was still talking to them when they faded into mist. "NOOOOO!" she screamed, clawing at the fading image. She woke up with a start, and Reina was staring at her. "Are you okay?" she asked."You were screaming about some lost villagers, and something scary coming to the island." "Nothing. It was nothing." Olivia assured her. Reina believed her, and went back to sleep. Olivia wondered why she had been screaming about something scary, since nothing like that had been in her dream. Olivia sighed and snuggled under the covers.

Chapter6(continued) Olivia puzzled over her dream the next morning. Who were those people? Were they real? How could she help? Olivia's head was spinning with thoughts, and she felt dizzy. She was still think over everything when the chief called all the children over for a lecture. She sighed, shuffling over to sit next to Milla and Bailey. "All right children! I think everybody is here, except for little Wasabi, who is sick. All right, first things first. We are going to learn about our ancestors today." Olivia perked up, hoping this would tell her something that could help her understand her dream. "First of all, our tribes ancestors came from a different part of Isola, a part that had a lagoon, a sacred gong. They had lived there for so long, they had nearly forgotten how they had gotten there. Only the sacred scrolls tell were they came from, but since those scrolls aren't here, we don't know exactly. The section of Isola they had been living on had gotten too crowded. They sent a group of villagers off on a raft, and among them was Keya, the mother of Pari. Pari was just a baby when they arrived, and she was the mother of Reina, who is the mother of Olivia, Milla, and Bailey. So we have gone through four generations. We have been here nearly 70 years, probably longer. In Isola years we have been here at least 208 Isola years. Any questions?" "Yes!" Olivia cried."I want to know why you won't send somebody back to find the other tribe on the other part of Isola, and read the sacred scrolls?" "I don't know." The chief said, scratching his chin."I suppose it's because we are happy here, and we don't see a reason to risk lives trying to find them. Good question, though." Olivia sighed. She wanted an answer! "All right, class! you can go now!" Olivia was walking off, turning towards the researching room. She found that she thought better there, and she might overhear something that could possibly answer some of her questions. Just then Milla ran up. "Why don't you come play with us?" she asked cheerfully."Bailey's busy! All she does is watch the parrots and sing. She says she wants to make up songs about the tribe so we won't forget anything. Please come play?" Olivia sighed, but nodded. She decided she should just try to relax, and not stress herself out. She and Milla ran off to join a giggling group of kids.
Bailey was hiding behind the banana tree, trying to watch the birds without scaring them. She was humming softly to herself. "Hello, sweet little birdies! don't be scared!" She crooned softly. "Now lets see if you like my song. Four little birds, pecking at the ground, here comes Watu, scatter all around! three little birds, hop on tiny feet, listen to my pretty song, stomp to the beat. Two little birds, such feathers of red, one lifts it's wing to fly away, the other bows it's head. One little bird, sad as he can be, all alone with no feathered friends, but look! It's me! fly away, be free!" She watch the last bird glide off, over the ocean. Fly away", she whispered,"be free." Olivia was laughing, running, feeling free and light as a feather. She never realized until now how much she had missed playing, and how fast she could run. She had just outdistanced Ervie, and was slowing down for breath, when she noticed a barrel bobbing up and down with the waves. "Look everybody! A barrel!" Everybody ran to the beach and watched two farmers drag the barrel onshore, and start prying it open. Olivia felt her skin tingling, and Bailey's expression was weird. Suddenly she burst into song. "Children of a lost land, bob in a barrel at sea, join the tribe of many treasures, but don't forget me. Live your lives, do your best, and before you go, try to remember who saved you." Suddenly a strange voice rose from the back of the croud. "HELP! IT'S ALMOST GOT US!!!" Milla said, she appeared to be in a trance."IT'S GOING TO CATCH US!!! RUN!!!" She suddenly stopped, and noticed everybody staring at her. Just then the farmers pried the crate open, and the two children from Olivia's dream fell out, Olivia gasped, and nearly fainted. "Those were the children from my dream!" she cried, her eyes widening."They are real!" "Were are you from?" one of the farmers asked the little boy. "We are from Isola, and our tribe got there by escaping from an exploding volcano." The whole tribe remembered now. They had gotten to Isola by trying to escape from a volcano, then they had found the second part by stumbling over a waterfall. A raft had brought them here. now the first part of Isola joined the third.

Chapter 7 Olivia stared at the two children for several second before stepping forward nevously. "So, what are your names?" she asked timidly. "My name is Tina, and this is my brother Wuti." the girl said timidly. Both children looked uncomfortably at all the villagers staring at them, shifting back and forth. Reina quickly stepped in. "Hey, why don't I take these two to my hut and help them clean up? You guys can all go back to work." All the villagers mumbled, then walked off, whispering to each other. Reina herded the two to her family hut and let them clean up. "How did you get in the barrel?" Reina asked as she scrubbed dirt off Wuti. "We heard a strange noise, and hid in a barrel. We must have fell asleep, because next thing we knew the barrel was bobbing in the ocean. When I stood up I couldn't see any land."
"You can be part of our family!" Reina said, and Tina grinned and nodded. Wuti just stared at Reina and his sister, tipping his head to the side as though he didn't understand. Olivia ran in just in time to greet the new family members, and ran to get Milla, Bailey, and Konu. "By the way", Reina said after everybody got there,"I just want you to know that I am pregnant, so this family is going to get even bigger!" The whole family cheered, and there was a huge village celebration. Soon all the villagers came to accept Tina and Wuti, and they had a great time playing. Tina turned out to be an amazing runner, and so was Wuti, even though he still didn't talk. Time flew by, and soon everybody was waiting for Reina's baby to come, and it was due any day now. Reina spent most of her time remembering when the triplets were born. One day she was watching the children play, wondering if she should let them stay up a little later before going to bed when she gasped. The baby was coming! Reina hurried to the doctors' room, and sent somebody for Konu.
Around two in the morning they heard the sound of a baby laughing. They all sat up expectantly, and a few minutes later Konu came out with a tiny white bundle. "Hey kids", he said,"Meet the newest family member, Leslie."
