I just bought Virtual Families for my iPod Touch today. Played it for a while, progressed a bit and all, and then I left it on while I went to the toilet. When I returned, it was as if the game froze. My finger was unable to doing anything to the screen and then it went black and returned me to the normal screen with all my Apps. I tried to open it, but it only went to the loading screen and then redid the whole turning black thing. I waited for 5 minutes, tried again, and it didn't work. Again after an hour or so, didn't work. I'm not sure what's wrong and if it's my fault somehow. Everything else on the iPod is working just fine though.
