I have all the Virtual Villagers going well, but now I can't get any of them to start up!

What do you mean you can't get them to start up? Can you open them from the main menu (shown below)?

Could your games possibly be "paused"?

If you can access the game from the main menu and open your game, press the spacebar on your keyboard and if your game was paused it will unpause it. Otherwise I have no other helpful ideas to offer. Good luck.

Juniebee, it would help to have a bit more information. First, what type of computer do you have? (Windows/Mac?) Is the game doing anything at all when you double click the icon? If it opens, what do you see?

My computer wasn't working, but my dad fixe it. (Dad used to be a computer engineer.)
