Island survival usually begins with exploring the island, taking inventory of what tools you have to survive, finding shelter followed by finding a water source. Depending on where you are located, that can be a major issue

Even so, there is the issue of boiling the water or filtering it.
Food isn't even recommended until you have a good water source as water is much more necessary than food. Maintaining a positive attitude and staying busy is as well important.
I guess I'm saying that they should last a bit longer without food but getting the water could be a challenge in itself in VV4 as opposed to immediately working on unlocking all of the food sources.
Unnatural hair colors to us now would only be possible through a chemical dye or a mutation..although the first hair dyes were made from natural ingredients.. never know what could've happened with the villagers but I happen to like the diversity there.
